Hi,

missing nicer sea and beaches now, don’t fancy flying or 12 hour silver mini bus trips, so could you recommend the best beaches the nearest to Pattaya please?

Bang Sarey beach AKA Sattahip military beach rank high on my list

Another option is a boat trip to Koh Larn.

Want to travel a bit further, Ao Khai is my favorite beach. Near Laem Mae  Phim. Though beware of the sand flies.

I think Ko Samet is awesome. Ko Larn is worth a visit as well. But if it's something like a prolonged weekend, I'd say Samet has more to offer.

Howdy,

If you want to swim then all of the above fit the bill nicely.

Nang Rong Beach - Blue Lagoon

This is possibly my favorite beach. 20Baht to get in and plenty of food etc
Avoid the w/e and public holidays

Laem mae phim beach in Klaeng district, rayong province is also a great beach for a daytrip from Pattaya.

If you don't mind the drive of 100km , Mostly Thai tourists with plenty of beachchairs and seafood restaurants.

A good girl gives you happiness and a bad girl gives you experience both are essential in life so enjoy every girlfriend!

What’s the best way to get to Nang Rong beach from Pattaya. What mini bus?

Koh Samet is easy to get to. Beaches are pretty average (I'm spoiled having lived in Philippines for a long time) and the Island is very boring.

Honestly I don't get all the love for Koh Larne, I've been several times and its just a bit meh. Sure its a lot nicer than the toilet pit Pattaya beach, wouldn't be difficult, but its really nothing special.

The best beaches I've seen that are within driving distance of Pattaya are in Koh Chang - admittedly its quite a long drive to Tratt, but I was really impressed by the island.  Koh Samet is on my list though, really need to get there and have a look.

I love Samet but agree it's boring. Quite small and not a lot to do but that makes it perfect if you just want to chill by the beach or get away from the insanity of Pattaya for a few days.
