E-Extension, New!

Great news for everyone who spends a longer time in Thailand, now you can also extend your visa online at:

https://thaiextension.vfsevisa.com/

Finally, you don't have to queue for hours in the heat and congestion at the Immigration Office!

Now it only takes 3 minutes to fix the extension online!

Best thing that's happened in a long time!😃

  • plahgat changed the title to E-Extension, New!

Before everyone gets too excited :) it’s for certain visa types only and you still have to go and queue at Immigration in order to get your passport stamped.

And only in Bangkok, for now.

However! And that's a massive however. It's still (potentially) an improvement. I have spent countless hours in Chaengwattana. I would have happily killed to get out of there quicker. This could significantly reduce the queues and that annoying double wait thing.

Hopefully just a step in the right direction.

I’ve actually never set foot inside an Immigration office in all the years I’ve been visiting Thailand. Don’t really plan to in the future either if I can help it. :)

Right with you mate. In my early years I didn't know you could have agents handle this stuff. But what joy that is. And I have the same plan :)

Seems like they have added a "Service-fee" to the Visa-extension fee!? 😏

Visa fee: 1,900 THB

Service fee as following:

Regular Service fee: 500 THB
Express Service fee: 1,500 THB

super urgent service fee to be 5,000 THB *You can also apply for a super urgent service, to get your E-Extension decision within next day (only business day).

Yeah, I have spent many sweaty hours waiting in queues at Immigration Offices, as long as you get your E-Extension granted it should now at least be as easy as a breeze to go there and pick it up! 🙂

And your extension won't be valid until you attend an IO with the required paperwork and that will take more than 3 minutes!

So, what's the advantage to this supposedly 'on-line' service?

I’m assuming this is for tourist visas and visa wavers. Can anyone confirm?

That's been discussed just above.

No. There are 12 categories. Importantly, the retirement visas are not part of it yet.
