If it's not screwed down/to the wall those safes are pretty useless, tuck one of them under an arm and walk away no problem.

People say to me "Pattaya is like Sodom and Gomera"

I say "it's not at all like that"

"Sodom and Gomera were mere prototypes, whereas Pattaya......"

Last trip I stayed in two different rooms at the Metropole (I had to move due to the A/C leaking water a few hours after "maintenance").

In the first room, the safe in cupboard was only loosely attached. I cold have ripped it loose with one finger. I got on to them quickly and a chap came and put a couple of new screws in the safe's base.

In the second room, the safe was not attached at all to the shelf in the wardrobe. I took it out, walked around the room with it for a bit, then popped it back in the wardrobe. I then decided to give up on calling them again and I just left it as it was for the remaining couple of days that I was there. TiT

Did he offer the BIB a reward? Hard to motivate them otherwise.

Check the safe. The inner shelves of the wardrobes are quite flimsy. Screws are no good - safes need a litre of super glue I think

Hope it was not one of our TF/TFMI darlings as perpetrator.

In these circs a tube of industrial 'No Nails' and dispenser gun is a very cost effective solution - liberally dose three surfaces (back, side, base) & anchor it against wall(s) + woodwork

Silly bugger, traveling with so much cash. That is what credit and debit cards are for!

Guessing he hoped by carrying cash he would avoid the fees and get a better rate but paid 360,000 in fees instead.

Dumb & Dumber. Beware all freelancers. They run all the scams.  Especially if they're non-Thai, when you have no idea who they are or where they go.  I always stick with TGs working in bars or AGGs.
