Rain Forest Cafe - Jomtien

This post is more intended for resident ex-pats, as opposed to shorter term visitors. @jimboh - you may want to try this one.

I noticed this place being posted on another board. This is not a place that most Central Pattaya people would be interested in. As fate would have it we are eating out more this week, due to going out of town next week. We decided to give Rain Forest Cafe a try. Been a while since we tried a new restaurant.

The overall ambience of the place is quite impressive. We were there on a rainy night, so my pics are not impressive.

I like the place. The atmosphere is fun. The overall menu is extremely broad with both Thai and Western food. My take on it is that the Thai food is probably the better way to go. The food is affordable. We spent about 1000 on two upper scale dinners, two beers, and a sugar free coke. They do not sell wine by the glass, but have bottles available. I did not want to go this route, so I did not ask more. I did notice that the wine shelf contained only one brand of wine. I suspect that it is rather pedestrian and also over priced.

I thought the food was decent. I was not wow'd. Still they have a huge menu, so we are likely to go again and try a few other things.

Sorry, Google the name and one will get a map option.

It is located on Sukhumvit a little North of Chiaprutek. It is on the side of the street where one is driving North. Sign is not to difficult to spot and it is directly across the street from Texas Chicken, which is impossible not to see.

Go there about every 2 weeks for lunch or dinner...good service, excellent menu and enjoyable food. I would say reasonably priced...parking on the main Suk road, or in the back.
