How to overcome Jet Lag

Recommended Posts

I have tried the Melatonin. At low dose (1mg) and med dose (5mg) and it did little to help reset my sleep cycle. Does anyone have something that works for them?

there was a documentary on the BBC recently on how to stay awake, legally ! and Melatonin was mentioned. The guy said he felt fine at the time but the morning after came out in a scary rash - go easy on that stuff ! If anyone else knows any tricks I'd love to know, as normallly first few nights i'm sinking redbulls like crazy to stay awake at night, even with all the fine pussy around !!

A good shorttime should do the trick.

Pick a flight that arrives BKK late afternoon.

On arrival at hotel, a few drinks, find yourself a honey.

Boing! Off to bed said Zebedee!

A mans gotta do, what a mans gotta do!

Hello,

I always arrive at 1 pm and I never go to bed. I CANNOT! But I go a little bit earlier, maybe at 1 am to bed and sleep little bit longer.

Then the jet leg is gone on the 2nd day.

Back to Europe I have to make holiday for 2 or 3 days before I go work :BJ1:

Try staying awake for 24 hours before your flight then take some nytol when you get on the plane. Hopefully you should sleep like a baby on the plane and you will be ready for action when you hit Pattaya.

I travel a LOT for work - nothing much seems to work really well- except I find eating meals at the times I would normally eat, then slowly moving to the new time zone over a day or so helps me. Basically I reckon it takes me about 1 day for every 3 hours of time difference

I considered using this stuff but was put off by the price of a bottle.

Same here, I also fly from Germany and arrive in Patts early afternoon. Never ever a problem when I'm there, but oh my god the returning... I feel sick and tired for a few days. Not really sure if it's only the jet lag though. :Drunk_Party:

last trip was a disaster!

it took me 50 hours to get to LOS.

When I landed (midnight) went out drinking in BKK till 6am.

Only slept 4 hours then pressed "replay" and did it all again.

I never worry about jet lag when GOING TO Thailand.

My biggest problem is when I return home.

I am not sure what really gets me. I think that it is a combination of MAJOR depression and jet lag.

Last year I went to LOS 2 times, December and July. Now, I think that I will only go in July. I am hoping that by coming home when there isn't 20cm of snow, -20C cold and darkness by 3:30pm will hopefully ease my "jet lag".

Try staying awake the day prior to your flight, then you will sleep a small bit on the plane, but you will get a great rest that day/night you get in and awake refreshed and ready to go. Thats what many people tell me at least anyways.

New research on jetlag shows that one way to avoid it is to don't eat on the flight. This is supposed to "reset" the body's internal clock.

Then eat immediately when you arrive.

I havn't tried it, so i can't verify that it works. If anyone does, please let me know:)
