I am giving my wifes brother my old PS2 and all of the games when I come over in a couple of weeks. But i'm not sure it will work in thailand. Has anyone ever used a UK PS2 out there?

thanks

Should be fine - I brought back a UK Wii - and it works fine and added an Xbox360 from Taiwan, again works fine. Copy games sometimes do and sometimes do not work (but that's down to the copy)

All you have to do if you want to be able to play the bootleg games and movies on it, is go down to any game shop in Tukcom, have them put in a chip to play all the bootlegs, but ask to keep the old one. When they put in the new chip, you can watch all the Thai movies and play the games, otherwise you'll have issues due to regional restrictions with most of the stuff. The chip alone will cost 1k-1500baht, but worth it if you use it a lot.

Cheers mate, and hope that helps some.

it will work on all the tv's no problem, will need a new lead or an adaptor for the power. as they say above if you want to play all the copy games ( and you will as they are for pennies) then it needs shipped at tukcom

My thai Ps2 will not play games bought/rented in australia. Its not chipped. My Xbox (in oz) is also region specific and will not play games I buy in thailand. Best to get it chipped then you wont have a problem

Just be sure to save your old chip, so if you ever decide to change it back, you won't have any problems. If you do put the Thai chips in the game systems, then you won't be able to play regular movies from back home.
