New ferry cruise between Pattaya and Samui

The rates i have seen are very high, especially if you want a cabin on the boat. For those prices you could fly and have a hotel for a week on Samui. OK it's nice to have a car but the island is small, a rented motorbike is just as good.

I think koh samui had their own app based taxi services... Some thing called NAVIAPP or similar name ... Must have succumbed to covid

I believe Bangkok Airways own the airport so control who flies there, ie nobody else but Bangkok Airways.

They actually built the airport, you didn't have the choice of flying to the island in a hour before then, you had to spend several hours travelling to get there, which is why the flights are so popular

My flights from Bangkok to Ko Samui in Jan 2023 cost 4400bt return, I remember Krabi was 3800bt, so not much of a difference if flying Bangkok Air

Around 3000฿, one way.

At that price I would fly

Ko Samui is a little more expensive to fly  to than  other destination you can get a ticket for around 2k +  take in to account  taxi and a night accommodation.

Very interesting indeed. I'll probably go there during Songkran. And having developed a bit of hatred of airports, this could be a fun change of pace.

Going to "escape" or " celebrate " Songkran ?

I have not seen anything posted yet.

I only saw 3000 baht, but even that was unclear what you get with it.

Unsure if that is Round trip, with a vehicle, or without a vehicle.

They really should have built the website prior to announcement, but TIT

There is really no info on website or facebook which is indeed annoying especially when they announce that the service will start end of september

Staying up in Pratanmak at tranquil hotel away from the day madness for a few days during Songkran 2023. Its a good option because I still like the crazy nightlife after 10pm in Central Pattaya when hopefully most of water chucking stops,

No. Ferry rates. But they remain mysterious.

For some odd reason, I am fine with long haul flights, but spending 12 hours on a boat scares the bejesus outta me.

I understand my apprehension of being out in the middle of a big body of water, but can't really understand why FLYING over that same big body of water does not concern me. 555

That said, a former LLT told me she REALLY wanted to go on a cruise, and this seems like a cheaper alternative, with a few nights in Koh Samui at the end.

Seems the rates on the site as on yesterday were broken ...

Today rechecked and a complete different picture

Prices Do not seem that attractive IMHO

The website still isn't up and running in respect of actually checking dates or booking tickets, but at least it now gives approximate prices for the various seating and cabin options.

I can't see this competing much with the flight option, except for those with their own vehicle, or perhaps for those who want a more romantic journey.

I was actually planning a trip on the 20th october cruise

But there is no proper system in place where one can book.

They do not even accept credit card it seems .. strange

The jnformation and facilities on the ship are also not elaborately explained

If anybody has any info .. please pm me or update here
