First time Non-Immigrant Visa (O-A) financial requirements.

Hi,

I am in the process of applying for a retirement visa. I was under the impression, that the 800,000 baht requirement was not required when applying for first time. I can not remember where I found this information. When applying now by e-visa, it is required to have document showing this amount. Requirements must be different for the first time, as you can not have a Thai bank account before coming.

If it is required to have this amount - is it enough to transfer money (from someone else) for the purpose alone to have a bank account statement showing 800,000+?
