My Day Out at Pattana Golf Resort

Tuna Town

Recommended Posts

Played here in June.

Green Fee 1350 baht.

Caddy/Cart Included

Tee off early and around in about 2.5 hours as only myself and the caddy in our group

First time playing here so was walking in blind.

As for my golf game I play off 12 so was happy with 86 off the stick on a Par 73

Being the course is 27 holes today I played the Andreas and Calypso 9s

Was blessed with a new experience for me a male caddy. The guy was good value but he must have thought I was super strong or something as he was always taking me 50 metres past where my ball actually was to look for my shot

My driving I was happy with today and I at times felt I had it on a string off the tee and found a lot of fairways

Putting was good but could have been better at times

Highlights of the round was the run of 5 pars on the trot I had on the back 9. To be fair the last 4 holes I probably could have Parred them all as well so was on a good roll as the round went on.

I also managed a Par 6 today on the Par 6 5th hole. A good tee shot away into the wind. A second shot into the rough on the right left me looking at a 200m shot over a water carry which I didn't fancy. Layed up to 90m and slapped the wedge on and just missed the birdie putt. Would love to play the hole without the wind as that green was reachable in 3 for me if I hit 2 good shots but didn't have to deal with the wind like today

Lowlight wasnt many issues today started with a double on the first and had another double on a Par 3 8th but that was down to a tough chip shot when I missed the green with a long water carry to the right and then chipped a nasty downhill shot in a position where I was staring down the barrel of a 3 putt which I duly delivered.

Only other issue was I lost a ball on the Signature Hole Par 3 3rd where I smoked the ball over the back of the green as I flushed the shot and the downwind saw it hit the green and not hold but still got up and down for a bogey. Was disappointing for what was a good shot

The course is a great course and I was surprised by the course quality and what is also a wonderful clubhouse facility

The caddy I had today I can recommend as a good operator who knew his way around the course well even if he thought I hit the ball further than I do

Not the most expensive course you will play in Pattaya but a great track and will look forward to visiting again in the future

Pattaya is a GREAT course and the club house is one of the best around Patts.

It's pretty long and tough with some terrific holes. Love playing there.

It's excellent value too. Even in high season it's 2000 baht all in.

But a male caddy is a no no for me. Only ever had one male caddy in thailand and it felt all wrong!! Never again haha.

Another time a golfer in my group had a male caddy and he was a right miserable prick. It was obvious he didn't like cleaning up after falangs. At one point, without provocation  he called me fat in front of the other golfers, intending for me to lose face. I replied "maybe I am but I can still fuck your sister for 1000 baht". That shut the fucker up.

Btw, Love the photos of the course.

You really are supplying me golf porn while I am stuck in the UK.

Cheers

It was a bit different than what you are used to but me and the caddy got on pretty well

The guy may well have thought I was a fat Farang cunt but striking up a good relationship with him left him keeping quiet on those thoughts

Agree it's a very good course and a great clubhouse. In fact the whole facility there is pretty first class as they cater to other sports as well

Played here in November

Green Fee 1850 baht.

Caddy/Cart Included

Booked via phone call and had a tee off time at 08:30am Arrived after a 40 min drive from Pattaya

Tee off early and around in about 3 hours as only myself and the caddy in our group

As for my golf game I play off 13 so was  with 91 off the stick it was a dissappointing way to finish the trip

Being the course is 27 holes today I played the Brooksei and Calypso 9s which was good as I played the Andreas and Calypso 9s last trip so got to complete the 27 holes

My driving I was happy with today and I found a lot of fairways

Putting was poor with 39 putts and a lot of 3 putting which really harmed my score

Highlights of the round was the run of 2 pars on the trot on the first two holes. Hell I was looking at 3 in a row until I 3 putted the 3rd hole of the day which really should have been the sign to call it a day

Lowlight was the 1st on Brooksei. An intimidating tee shot with a giant water hazard running down the left edge of the fairway and also down the right edge of the fairway. There ain't much fairway there and it got a hell of a lot smaller when I got to it after the front 9 and had a wait on the tee. Pulled it a little left and it was touch and go if it would stay up above the water line but it wasn't to be. Took a drop then had to carry the approach of a creek in front but missed the green left chipped on and then 3 putted for a 7 on a Par 4

To be fair putting out on the last was a sense of relief that it was over. I didn't even give a fuck that I 3 putted from the fringe on a Par 5 for a bogey 6

I had enjoyed the experience of 12 rounds in 14 days in BKK and Pattaya but the golf has been a fraction frustrating as my game wasn't quite there and I wasn't quite finding it so I was glad it was over

Good news is that it be on again soon in a month and I am starting to get toey thinking about where I will be playing this time
