I note that the word 'obscene, lewd' in thai is 'ลามก',  'laamok'.     Prominent BMs name. 555.

This is a good idea imo. How receptive have the ladies been to this? Specifically thai.

I have only had one Thai woman refuse to do the ID card thing,  The girls understand that the hotels take a photo copy of the ID card, so what is the difference if you do the same?

The hotel staff are Thai and (probably) don't have nude etc photos of them.

Some TGs are smart enough to know that if you have their ID etc they are more likely to be outed on the internet..... not complicated.

Personally I start to upload any video I've taken to the cloud, as soon as the girl's left my condo, and everything's deleted off my device within 30 minutes of her leaving.

That's why I use Cryptomator, to encrypt anything I upload to the cloud.

I always upload any remotely questionable content, encrypted, to a cloud service or my home network.

Can you guys share your setup tips? You have iPhone or Android?

So you don't use the standard photo cloud upload such as Google Photos on Android?  Does that mean you use a different camera app and save photos to a special folder that is synced with the cloud?  Using what sync tools?

Are you talking about Cryptomator app on your phone?  Do you use that app to encrypt the files in that special folder?

Iv'e never used a phone to do this, I do it on my laptop,  I transfer the pics and videos taken on my iPhone, and then transfer them to my Macbook. And encrypt and upload to Dropbox from there.

This video is an easy guide to doing this.

Yes pornography is illegal here in Thailand, but plenty guys take pornographic pics and video of the girls they bar fine. And plenty of girls , are more than happy to agree to being photographed and filmed, now compared to a few years ago, for some reason I haven't been able to work out yet.

But, you need to protect yourself, and that means get whatever pics or video you've taken off your phone, or SD card as soon as you can. That means uploading, to a secure cloud service, then delete it from the device you used to take pics with.

Two things can happen if you don't delete the pics or video. One could be that the girl is very happy at the time to be filmed, and that's great if you don't have an issue with her later on. If you do happen to have a major dispute with her down the track, in a few days or a few weeks time. If she's really vindictive, and has a policeman friend, she could say that you made her make a video under duress, and you threatened her. If the video taken of her is still on your phone when the police come knocking on your door, your fucked. It will be very very expensive to get out of that mess.

The other possible problem you could have, is when you arrive back in your home country. If Customs stop you and check your devices. If they see your home made pornography, and if they think the girl is not of legal age. They have a policy of, if it looks wrong, it is wrong. Your at a higher risk of being accused of that, because Thai girls that are 18 to 20, can look very much younger.

There was a case a where a guy was put on trial in Puerto Rico for transporting UA content when Customs searched him, and found a porn DVD in his baggage. He was looking at 20 years in prison, he only escaped the charge. When the actress "Little Lupe" Lupe Fuentes went to court and testified on his behalf. And proved that she was 19 when she made the porn movie, only then were the charges dropped.

Both of the above are highly unlikely , but both things have actually happened, so it's important to get your home movies on to the cloud ASAP. Personally I start to upload any video I've taken to the cloud, as soon as the girl's left my condo, and everything's deleted off my device within 30 minutes of her leaving.

What is the criteria for safe/unsafe photos?  For both Thai police, as well as your home customs officers (US being the main concern).  By unsafe I mean it gives an officer the legal right to accuse you and take action.  Obviously any nude photos you take are unsafe, but what about other situations where they know you took the pictures, and a romantic involvement is suggestive.  Lets assume the girl in the photos looks very young and underage (but in reality is not underage of course)

1.  You and the girl hugging and wrapping arms around each other while going out and about outside, in bars, stores, etc., - unsafe?

2. The girl posing for you in your hotel lobby - unsafe?

3. The girl posing fully dressed in your hotel room - unsafe?

4.  Selfies of you and the girl relaxing in the swimming pool, in swimsuites - unsafe?

5.....what else could be unsafe

It would be too much hassle if you are not safe to take ANY photos of young girls you are together with....  So what's reasonable to keep on the phone.

Simple answer for US Customs.  If the girl looks young, or even not, take a picture of her Thai ID Card.  It has date of birth and other info, and her giving her ID to photo is tacit approval.  Pornography of legal age participants is not illegal in USA, in Thailand another issue, you have to play by their rules.  I was stopped once by immigration in US asking to see my phone which had risque and what would be construed as pornographic photos with a few of my "contacts" in LOS.  I also had their ID photos.  Outside of having a chuckle at my photos, I simply claimed I had nothing illegal, they browsed a few folders and after seeing ID's they agreed and I went on my way.
