First went to BKK in '84 at the age of 20. Stayed at the Honey Soi 15 Sukumvit. Last Stayed there in 2006. Same rooms same decor, but the sheets had been changed. Seriously, though a top spot with a great coffee shop for english/ american food. Nice & quiet when you want it to be. Also, they are not to inquisitive about which friends you want to share the night with.

Are you sure you've been going to the right hotel? The Honey is on Soi 19. Maybe you've been going to the Miami all these years without realising it. :D

Stayed one night at Miami & couldn’t believe it is allowed to operate. I used to stay at Crown hotel on Soi 29 for half the price & it was infinitely better.

In the 80’s if you had dough stayed at the Honey if not then Crown or maybe Starlight (seediest hotel around but still better than Miami).

I spent a week at the Honey hotel, Bangkok in Nov 06. It is on Soi 19 - at the end of the soi is Country Roads II.

That was one of the best bars I have been into.

The Honey itself though is a bit dowdy, not bad though and there really is a very nice coffee shop. They give you a free breakfast which unlike American hotels actually is worth getting.
