I am trying to find info on the passenger train that passes through Pattaya.

Does anyone have a link with times/destinations?

Does it go to Sattahip and Rayong?

The fastest train service from Bangkok to Pattaya is Train #997 departing at 06:45 which is scheduled to complete the journey in 2 hours 28 minutes. Both trains are often delayed on route and you should allow at least 1 hour for delays if you are arranging any onward transport from Pattaya. Buy Tickets from Bangkok to Pattaya

Going south the train goes towards Sattahip but the line for passengers stops short basically in the middle of nowhere about a mile from the 331 junction with Sukhumvit, a few miles from Utapao Airport. Did the journey for the hell of it before Covid, some decent scenery though. Takes about 45 minutes.

Got the missus to check into it, she reckons that the train terminates at Ban Plu Ta Luang, which is indeed in the middle of nowhere where 331 meets SKV. She also says that the train only runs on Sat and Sun, and leaves Ban Plu Ta Luang at around 15-30hrs.

Can anyone confirm?

Apparently, there is one train everyday, the one on Sat and Sunday has A/C.

And the train leaves Ban Plu Ta Luang weekdays at 13:35

We once (perhaps 15-years ago) took our kids on the train down from Pattaya to the end of the line, then hired a tuk-tuk for a local-tour, and caught the return-train back again.  A fun day out which was cheap-as-chips ! 😊
