+4 star in walking distance of the action and girl friendly?

Only in town for an extended weekend, first time. I hate Scooters for the life of me (driving, no issues on bike taxis) - so wondering what's in the action or close enough to it I can walk my way around for an absolute filthy few days.

Main wants:

1. Close to the action so I can jam in a few weeks in a few days

2. Good internet as I'm bound to have to work for a few hours a day

pattaya is small, nearly everything is "close to the action", especially if you're fine with motobike-taxis.

if you're super focused on Walking Street, book a hotel along beach road (Hilton, wave hotel, lk empress)

but i'd stay in the LK Metro / Tree Town vicinity (which will only add like a minute to your travel time to walking street). Page 10, areca, lk residence / metropole, Aqua, baraquda (tiny bit further away) and intimate hotel are probably the most popoular ones in that area. internet should be fine in all of them, although Page 10 connection is slow (but stable). enough for online work and 720p streaming, but 1080p isn't realistic.

i'd probably book Areca Lodge for the first trip, unless you want more luxury (and pay more) and then consider Hilton / baraquda.

it's still my default goto hotel in pattaya and i like it a lot, but the internet speed is a drawback.

Just had another successful stay at Page 10, didn’t notice the internet speed as an issue, but that was because I used my phone as a hot spot with a True sim that cost me 350bht for a month of unlimited data at 30mps. Had a strong 5g signal so could stream away to my hearts content.

Also had two weeks at the Baraquda and have to be honest, its not worthy of its rating at the moment. I tried two different rooms but both were quite “tired” in terms of chips to furniture, noisy air on and general room feeling. The rooms are long overdue a refurbishment. There are massive roadworks at the rear of the hotel which takes away some of the advantages of being able to get through to the back of Soi 15 and just made the pool area noisy in the daytime.

If you want to do both Treetown and Bukhaow areas and be a two minute walk to the beach and easy access to Walking Street, Page 10 would be still be my number one goto hotel. Rooms are excellent sized, quiet Soi especially if you get a room at the back of the hotel. Always exceptionally clean and a proper 4 star sized bathroom with separate bath and giant walk in shower area. The only not so great feature is the breakfast offering is fairly limited and only served until 11am, but I more often than not just crossed the road to Hemingways for an excellent large breakfast for 199bht if I fancied one.

I thought the air-con at Page 10 was horrendous, even on low settings the noise was ridiculous.

The temperature never worked either, and after around 30/40 minutes it was way too cold.

I spoke to a few other guests, and they said it was the same in their rooms.

This was back in May this year.

they have some rooms where the aircon kinda sucks, agreed. in one room the "low setting" is actually the high setting and it's the noise is much lower if you select "medium" instead... and yeah, the AC is on the noisy side, but that doesn't bother me personally.

i never had a problem with the temperature though.

The temperature was basically was very cold, despite the wall panel reading 26 or above. I would turn it on for an hour before having to switch it off.

Nothing I did changed the setting, and it was the same with other guests, a real shame as it's a nice hotel with a good location.

Another small annoyance was that they played music constantly at the pool area. 😂🤣😂

I must have been lucky, never had that issue in both Page 10 rooms I have had, temp was always about right.

A handy tip is ask for a room at the back of the hotel which is the VT 6 side, better balcony view and quieter, I believe all the rooms this side were refurbished in the last couple of years.

I stayed there once in a jacuzzi suite for about a week three years ago and have to agree with this.  The room is mostly fine, but the aircon being too loud, too cold, and blowing straight onto the bed was a big a drawback.  Mera Mare has even worse air-conditioning though, literally aircon blasting straight at your head in one of the deluxe rooms.

I thought all the rooms had been refurbished, I stayed in one of the larger rooms to the front, but I was also shown  one of the rear rooms, and it looked the same just smaller.

they putted windows walls for the bathroom and called it a jacuzzi suite. It look like a regular bath on the picture.

  • 4 weeks later...

Stayed in Page 10 in May. First room very noisy aircon, tired bathroom which hasn’t been refurbished in a long time. Couldn’t deal with the aircon so they found me another room. Very nice bathroom in this one with massive talk in shower with rainfall shower head.

The aircon still was a bit noisy and as others mentioned had two settings, very cold or off :).

Still think Page 10 is great value for the money though.

that's wrong. the jacuzzi suite has a completely different layout from the normal rooms.

the deluxe rooms and the grand deluxe rooms are quite similar.

the jacuzzi suite (and the presidents suite) are a completely different layout.

edit: maybe i misunderstood your post. but the jacuzzi suite (+presidents suite) also have larger bath tubs than the other two room categories.

I feel PA BM are anti-Avani for some reason...or maybe I'm a fanboy....but its location and amenities...at the price (which varies a bit) I think can't be beat.  Yes....I would say the Hilton on average is nicer...but the pool isn't comparable, it isn't as easy to access and it usually runs 2X the cost.

I actually only remembered after reading this that I had to ask to change rooms after I checked in. The 2nd room was fine quite AC that looked onto the tennis or badminton courts of the neighboring hotel

As fare as the AC control I found it just fine as they gave me 2 key cards so I had the AC on to desired room temperature and never turned off.

This was in May 2018

yeah but a jacuzi is not a big bath tubs. it's totaly different. The image, i think it's the minimum required to be named a jacuzi, and if i had this in a jacuzi room it would be a big deception.

    • For those that don't know, I did Friday meetings before many years ago,  I feel like we are missing a regular meeting for members,  I am aware guys meet at PA affiliated bars. But I want to start meeting people again, I'm inviting the guys following my YouTube also.

The meetings is a chance to get to meet each other,  I plan to be at every meeting, I also have Dean from Dive bar that has offered to help out with a crawl after.
The meetings will be  Monday  6 pm - 8 pm each week.  (The improvised bar crawl will commence at 8 p.m.  Dean will make his own plans for that.)

Due to low numbers of people in town, I will start the meetings in our bars to help our girls and managers, please check back often incase things are changed.  I will be sharing the love around town later, but Soi 6 is first on my list (including bars that are friendly competition)
If bar owners want us to have a meeting at their bar,  they need to have a minimum of 10 girls.  I'm not dragging people to empty bars for favours.
Please help us invite other members, it takes a while to get momentum.
Monday 6 pm - 8pm  (then bar crawl after)
