Requirements for a 30 day Visa Exempt

It is almost impossible to get any information on 30 day Visa Exempt in Thai Embassy here in Australia. My question is do you need a fully booked and paid accommodation for your entire 30 day stay on the 30 day Visa Exempt , or just a address where you are staying in the arrival card you get on plane , like it use to be pre covid times. Also can this type of Visa be extended for another 30 days while in Thailand . Thanks,, Regards Popa .

Just an address like pre-Covid is fine.  Not sure about extensions.

It's not a visa. It's an exemption :) but yes! You can extend locally.

The immigration officer might ask you to show a flight out of Thailand that is within the 30 day permission to stay.

Not just immigration, could be denied boarding if he has no return or ongoing flight as the airlines have to pay to fly him back if immigration refuses entry. The 30 day visa exempt can be extended for another 30 days one time at Jomtien immigration for 1900 baht, application and photos. Immigration just wants an address where you'll be staying, they won't ask for proof of accommodation for 30 days. Rarely, some are refused if they can't show they have at least 20k baht or equivalent in cash.

I would be careful of believing everything you read on a random internet forum.

So what is the point of this forum then?
From what I’ve seen if any incorrect information is handed out it is quickly pointed out and corrected by other members on here.

Small correction. It's only 10 k. 20 if entering with a visa.
