Only way to fix traffic problems on Buakhou would be to make it one way traffic.

Far too straightforward for the BIB to figure out...common sense and logic here are no goes.

IMO traffic Jam there are mainly due to:

- Baht Bus looking for customers and driving very slow

- Some Car drivers who seem to think that it's not a problem to stop their car in the middle of the way in order to go buy streetfood or goods in 7/11

Yeah, disappointing the BiB didn't even mention that.

Was this not trialled a few years ago for about a week?  As I recall, it was quickly abandoned as not popular with the Baht Bus operators.

Ok, that could make sense.

I think it's been tried several times before.

I don't recall it lastly a week but one time it lasted almost 2 hours.

One way system is the only way to go, so simple. get to the end of Buakhow, turn right down to 2nd road & do it all again, keep the food vendors & bike parking to the right hand side of the Soi. If the Songtaew drivers don't like it...tough fucking titty! 🤬

You're here now where you should have been all along.

Those saying how easy/obvious the solution is should perhaps start by saying which direction traffic should flow?

I don't think you can dismiss the Songtaews as unimportant, nor the many customers who use them.....and who want to travel in both directions.

The operators clearly need to have routes they can use to circulate, so also try to figure those out.
Bear in mind that the demand is mainly on Beach Road/Second Road and Soi Buakhao....... not Third Road.

From what I recall of previous attempts, they failed when the side sois (and Soi Buakhao itself) became grid locked due to Songtaews, Taxis and other traffic creating alternative ways to circle round back onto Soi Buakhao at the points where there are customers, preferably avoiding getting stuck at traffic lights.
It ain't easy.

One way on Soi Buakhao only works if they can get more baht buses to use Third Road.

It seems to work well on Beach Road...

You mean they should flood one side of Soi Buakhao.......or maybe seal one side by walling off all the side sois?

I think you might be on something there.  :hello09:

Catch 22?

Baht buses want to go where there might be customers.... that ain't Third Road.

How about fixing the traffic problems on Second Road from the fly over bridge to Pattaya Tai.  That would mean doing something about the three massive holes they dug and haven't got around to filling back in.  Sorry to get off the subject.  I got to deal with this in about an hour.
