Benefits of being married to a Thai

Recommended Posts

Now that I am married to my Thai Wife what benefits would I get if we lived in Thailand? Healthcare? Extended Visa stay? Anything? Nothing?

I am married to a Thai woman and live in Thailand and I have found no advantage to being married over when we were not..

You will be able to get a one year visa based on being married if you meet the money and / or income requirements.

Now that you are married the one benefit is not one that you gain, it is the extended family that is likely to benefit at your expense!

No benefits at all besides the Visa that someone else has already mentioned and you must still pass all the fiscal requirements for that too.

You can get a 1 year multiple entry O visa without being married to a Thai from the UK just by saying you are going to visit friends.

So there are no advantages then?

I think there is a difference in the amount of money you need in your bank to get your 1 year non B. I was under the impression that it is lower when you are married.

With a 12 month Non Imm O you have to do Visa runs every 90 days. With a married spouses visa you dont have to do that.

Very minor benefit I agree.

I think the benefits are that slightly less people try to mount her while she is walking in pattaya. (actually, probably more try to)
