Physio in Patts for shoulder problem

Recommended Posts

Posted

I've tried googling but can't find a specialist Physio type service in Patts. Found one in Bang Lamung but need one in Pattaya.

I have developed a shoulder problem which is very painful when I move my arm in certain directions. I think that it is a ''frozen'' shoulder which can take a good while to improve. I'm doing some exercises but would like to get an expert to look at it and maybe give me some pain relief treatment.

I'll get anti inflammatory from the pharmacy later today.

I have had both of my rotator cuffs cut and both times they were initially diagnosed as frozen shoulder...BIG MISTAKES.

Push to get an MRI because the PT to treat them is quite different and can be destructive,  Get an MRI ASAP.

If you don't treat it right, timely, it can affect your labrum, bicep, etc., due to overcompensation.

Did I say get an MRI immediately yet?

I'm going back to the UK in three weeks. I might wait until then.

Good move...make an appointment now to see your ortho.  When they ask you about the pain say it is a "10 out of 10",,,,they love to deny MRIs.  The other thing you MUST say is that you can't sleep at all without taking painkillers.....once you say it affects your sleep they are more apt to order an MRI.

There's an orthopedic clinic on the north end of town, open in the evenings as the doc works the hospitals during the day.  I had shoulder pain and he fixed me right up for a fraction the cost of getting treatment in the hospitals.

If you haven't torn it, it could be bursitis. Some rubber band exercises can help to resolve.

I've just had a shoulder reconstruction, torn rotator cuff. My arm is immobilized for six weeks then a few months of physio to build strength up. 😥

Good luck....generally, if you are immobilized fort hat long .....you will have more than a few months.  If you are back to 90% again within a year it is considered a great success.

Yes I guess I was being optimistic. The surgery has delayed my move to patts. When I get there I'll have to limit my activities to sub 40kg spinners for a good while.  😁

Sounds like the guy that I've been recommended by someone in my condo block. Thanks for the full name.

Drugs from pharmacist are already working.

I personally have never needed his services but a mate of mine 3 years ago visited him a few times and spoke highly (as many others have) of him...I,m not aware of his current location or status sorry....good luck to whoever needs him.

I can't read Thai, but the google map should help with the location, on Soi 15 just off Sukhumvit.

Two reports......one says he's retired and the other says he's doing home visits only.

He's not responding to Line.
Last # I have for him is 089 099 3845

I recently got over a case of frozen shoulder. It's one of the more common shoulder ailments according to the shoulder specialist I saw. Started off with a little pain in moving my arm in certain ways or reaching in certain directions and got progressively more painful over a couple of months to the point where it was very painful and I went to see the doctor. X-rays were fine and after examining things like my range of motion, etc., he said I had frozen shoulder. It goes away on its own over time without doing anything special. The doctor mentioned that some people suggest exercises, but that they really don't do anything.  He said that if you do exercises for six months and it gets better, it wasn't the exercises that fixed things, it was the six months. Other doctors say the exercises help, so who knows.

My timeline was as follows. Shoulder got worse over a couple of months, stayed that way for about three months, then slowly got better over the next seven months with the last couple of months being only slightly noticable if I reached the wrong way.

One option to waiting it out is a procedure called MUA for frozen shoulder (manipulation under anesthesia) where the doctor manipulates the shoulder in such a way to stretch or loosen the affected tissue. My doctor said he had an excellent success rate with this procedure but it didn't always work. I opted to just wait it out. I simply tried to avoid moving my arm in the ways that hurt my shoulder during the worst part of it. Good luck!

Greetings,

I've had 3 shoulder surgeries due to anterior and multi-directional subluxation of right and left shoulders! For the past 5 years, I was diagnosed of having a shoulder impingement of left shoulder! Therefore, commercial physical therapy works to certain extent but my recommendation is to do website and YouTube search on shoulder therapy and diligently follow through! Best option is to join a gym and build your rotator cuff and scapula muscles doing various exercises recommended by YouTube physical therapists and  athletic trainers!

Also, don't be afraid of getting cortisone injections for severe pain!

Great advice in this thread!

Shoulder has been killing me for about 5 months. Ortho Dr. said frozen shoulder, but his exam was minimal at best - in the room maybe 5 minutes. Ice helps, as did stretching at PT (but only for a few hours).

My lazy ass just needs to get busy on PT at home (i.e., the YouTube methods).

I had a frozen shoulder about 15 yrs ago and went to my doctor who gave me a cortisone shot in the back of my shoulder and set me up with a physio appt. The physio did some manipulations with me lying on a table and had me move it in certain ways repeatedly - can't remember exactly how - maybe going through a full range of motion? Anyway the fix was almost immediate - cortisone took away most of the pain and the physio got me back to normal very quickly I was amazed.

I have very good insurance...and my Ortho even did a one on one with them to get an MRI...still took forever.  The one thing you need to say repeatedly to get stuff done is that it affects your sleep/you can't sleep.  This will escalate requests.  I waited too long on my left and by the time I got it cut my left bicep was 90% severed so they just cut it too while I was under and relocated it...now have tendenitis in the bicep and both shoulders are fine...but golf sucks (nothing new there) and all of my other sports aren't like they were 5 years ago.  Good luck!

A good friend of mine is very soon going to Pattaya. He asked me for help but i am not there now, only going there late November, and i am not aware of these things, so here is the question:

He is doing some physiotherapy for partial rupture of shoulder tendon. He doesnt want to stop it, so, where in Pattaya can he carry on the treatment? And how much will it cost him for each session?

I dont want to send him to any massage parlour...

Thanks.

If he has aready been going a while he should be able to ask his current therapist for a lit of next step ecervises and reps...and when he should begin...they should provide a plan.  Take that with what he knows his current routine and he should be able to get through a couple months...buys him time if he is there longer to find a PT on the ground.

@The Danimalis pretty on the mark. I had steel bolted from knee to about 15cm below in March. Arrived in Pattaya in May on 2 crutches I searched without success for a physio (nearest one I found was about 18km north in a hospital) so real recovery was delayed. TF I could ride a scooter!

If by "any" you mean none stop now !-/ if you mean mediocre then I can recommend DaDa (late 40s) for having some techniques of use with injuries she's at Nokyoong Health Massage 2 , beside Baukhow Postal Services. If you have someone else in mind I'd say stick to same person as they get to know the injury.
