Which beach would be the best place to start ?

The most important thing is usually "finding a parking place". But in Pattaya

is that so important ?

If it was late afternoon and you wanted to get out on the ocean for a while

which beach would you want the canoe at, and how would you get there?

I'd stear clear of pattaya beach itself.

As well as being a rubbish tip, theres a lot of unregulated speedboat and jetski traffic. Plus all the boats the thais own.

When you rent a jetski they hand you a life jacket, tell you "you pay for damage" and thats your health and safety brief over with.

Occasionly you hear about divers or swimmers getting hit by those things.
