30 day visa exempt or 60 day e-visa ?

What are the pros and cons of the two inital forms of entry mentioned in the heading, when you intend to apply through an agent

for a retirement visa once in Thailand? And what would be your choice?

It would be on a British passport if that makes any difference.

Maybe there are other Visa types i can initally apply for ,but after seeing what a ballache the evisa is I do not want anything more complicated than that before leaving.eg police checks, bank statements, etc.

I just applied for the 60 day evisa. It's a bit of a pain in the arse.( Loads of information to scan in) but it only cost 30 quid. It only took three days to get approved
