🤣🤣🤣  been here many many nights during my December trip.     was always crowded and lively until 4am ish.    was actually very cool atmosphere and like the article said many exit points.    it got raided once in December while I was there and we all escaped with no issues.  place is well known within the pattaya nightlife crowd for drinks and other social activities  😶

When they clamp down and close all alcohol venues of all kinds including restaurants they only have themselves to blame

I have to keep reminding myself its a job :GoldenSmile1:

it's the  managers and owners getting in trouble not patrons..   so the owners will need to blame themselves.     hope that's what u were referring to.    not the actual customers.

Yes I'm not talking about the customers at all if I was a customer and then you was open I would go in as well I'm referring to ownership and management

Just to lighten the mood a bit. Reminds me of perhaps the best news article I ever read here.

There was a brothel in Sattahip located on a pier. The home of the famous swing over the sea to the ST rooms (another story).

It was constantly being raided and always opened a few days later.

Any the article was “Massage parlor raided - 30 arrested and another 30 escape by jumping into the sea”.

On a serious note - it does seem that these reports are almost solely at Thai places. By Thai I mean predominantly Thai customers although that will likely mean Thai owners too.

They really don’t seem to grasp they are probably just extending the restrictions - not doing anyone any favors, least of all themselves.

Double whammy...while Patts struggles to continue the fleecing from the Bib has reached stupidity. What if we all turn round & say...no. Can they lock us all up?

They are using extant restrictions to their obvious own end, shameful behaviour to their own people.

You're here now where you should have been all along.

Won't there come a point where the customer becomes "friendly fire" and made an example of...?

People could lose visa privileges' and that would hurt more than a lockup.

I agree but there is an easier remedy if the police closed the venues for a period Of 1 to 5 years if they were caught not following the rules I have a strange suspicion everybody would start following the rules

back in the summer .. during lockdowns at a few beach bars (at times I was also there during the raids) many tourist rcvd 20 to 30k baht fines (thai girls only 5 to 10k baht) and a few hours in the slammer.  never ever threatened to void visa...   I luckily avoided both.     but that method seemed to stop as they are now just focusing on the venues who are allowing it.   (luckily).

Place those 100 in the jailhouse overnight and those without covid going in will have it on the way out. Hope the BIB test every releasee for covid.

wow aren't you just a bundle of joy..   wishing a virus and jail time on people having a drink.

I was one of those patrons previously... I knew the risk.  but again police are focused on the owners who are opening. not the customers.

but we all know the virus comes out only after 9pm.    why don't they lock u up for visiting a bar at 6pm and test you after?

And just think, people are still planning trips like they are missing out on something. At least take your running shoes.

Yep, it's all fun and games and questions and answers until they outlaw alcohol everywhere for many months again. Then nobody will be having fun.

back to the days of small villa pool parties?   😃    but im 100% agree with you all.  I don't want to see any further restrictions and wan't everyone to be making money and spending money again..    I'm just saying young adults will be young adults.   they will find a place to drink and party if a place is willing to host.   if not back to house parties etc.

People are just trying to survive.   From a financial standpoint and from a sanity standpoint.   Live for today mentality.

I do not blame them one bit.

The virus and the governments are running the show.  Don't ask me which is worse.

Funny thing tho is, they are only raiding places after hours.... Maybe venues should be shutting up shop at 21:00 as is required atm?

You are absolutely 100% correct. So then...how exactly are the bars going to make a living? 😐

You're here now where you should have been all along.

Not sure if true but some reports of customers being fined as well for being in bars after 9pm who are continuing with the shutters down.

Not been our experience. Licencing Police have come in to check correct accreditation, totally ignoring customers. But that has been during trading hours.
