Thai Visa when you're young (Work Permit?)

Hey guys, I'm looking into solutions to staying in Thailand long-term. Right now, Covid Extensions are easy but thinking of what I could do after that.

  • I am nowhere close to 60 so retirement visa is impossible.
  • Elite visa seems to be not so much of a great deal. Its 600K for 5 years which is a bad deal, and 1 Million for 20 years which is a very long commitment. So not looking for it.
  • My passport is not valid for ED visas and the volunteer visa seems a bit sketchy.

One thing I've come across is getting a work visa along with a work permit. Spoke to an agency who said they can do it, but the cost is a bit high and works out like this: If you made 70K per month, they take 15K as their fee, another 8K as taxes to the Thai government and you get about 47K to your bank account. So that comes to almost 23K a month. Is this the best option I have? Has someone done something similar? Or is there any simpler visa option available that I'm missing out on?

I've been stringing ED and recently Volunteer visas for the last 7 years, I came when I was 28.

Every 2-3 years the guys that don't like this slight subversion will gleefully report that a sweep of 50-100 foreigners from a school that stopped bribing the local immigration signals an end to this form of long staying. So be aware of that.

I am not eligible for ED Visa. How risky is the volunteer visa?
