recommended courier large heavy package?

Hi, I am sending from Bangkok a backpack (with cover) to a friend in Sattahip. I would use State Railway of Thailand, but it is not convenient for my friend.

He has used Kerry before. But I see a lot of adverts for L&T. Speed is not important, safety and reliability are. And of course fair price.

I am guessing the bag is 20+- kilos.

Even if Thai couriers pick up I don't want to sit around all day in my hotel lobby.

Among the household goods there is a lithium battery in it (within legal limits for air travel), but airlines have no issue at security.

I presume this would go by truck?

Kerry has strict limitations on size and weight. You literally cannot think 'outside the box'.

What do you use in Thailand when you want to send big luggage ahead? Do I have to literally go in person by bus/train? Kind of defeats the purpose.

It's only 14 kilos. I just carried it solo on my shoulder for 12 minutes w/o incident

Don't know why I can't reply to my list without quoting myself. I manually deleted all that.

Would it be possible to put it on a bus and have your friend meet it in Sattahip?  Either officially at the ticket booth  or promise the driver a few hundred baht in his pocket when the backpack is picked up.  I know Greyhound Bus lines in the US does it, so maybe it’s an option in Thailand.

Can you put it in a box and take it to Thai post? I've seen people ship many large heavy items there.

I used Kerry Express ..

1. Depot near my hotel in Chinatown

2. Helpful staff

3. Under THB500 for 15 kg worth spread out into two boxes

4. Next-day delivery

5. Driver calls first

Next time, perhaps I will have leads on a poor man's delivery service. I don't *need* delivery within 20 hours, even as fast as 16 hours. Two to three days is more than adequate for me.
