One way BKK>LHR

Recommended Posts

Hi,

seen a similar thread with people asking about return flights starting in BKK.

Now I only need a one-way.

The thing is the one way flights I have seen are more expensive than the return flights starting from LHR.

2 parts to this question.

1.) If I buy a return from LHR to BKK can I just post the ticket to my partner in Thailand and she can use it no trouble?

2.) Are there any cheap flights one-way BKK to UK other airports?

oh, and a third part to the question is begging any lovely kind person who doesn't want to return home on their ticket and is due back in UK around April to please can you give it to us :)

Tickets are not transferable.

I need 2 one ways tickets from BKK, I was quoted by Flynow Thaivisa for an Etihad flight in June at 22,300 (£446) for an Adult BKK - LHR & 17,700 (£354) for an child ticket, If you buy a return ticket in the UK there should be no problem as long as the ticket is in that person name but I would check with the person/airline you are buying from first, only problem you have with a return flight some of these cheap tickets are only valid for a month or up to 3 months, so if your partner is staying 3 months or more then you will need a more expensive ticket, looking at the various websites the same Etihad flight would cost £473 for an Adult & £404 for a Child so it would cost me £81 more to buy a return.

You have to remember that prices in BKK do not take into account the drop in the value of the pound £, if this was last year when we could get 68 baht to the £, then it would be a different story, both tickets would have only cost £588 and the prices for return in the UK would still have been the same

My partner is coming to live with me for good :SteamingMad: so there isn't any need for a return :Laugh1: at least not until we need to go visit the parents again.

I will try to do it over the internet as my wife has just about pawned everything she owns so I guess I just have to fill in all her details and get it sent to her parents home?

Not to bothered about the actual ticket itself, but if we knew there was a space on a certain flight, in the old days you used to be able to buy the seat off the airline at the airport at a mega discount... is this not done any more?

maybe try ba website....have good deals on at the moment

I have contacted ba previously about buying a ticket for someone to come visit the uk and it appeared to be possible to book/pay and arrange for the ticket to be collected by the traveler at airport immediatley prior to departure.......may have been a small fee involved but it was not a silly amount for the service

ticket was from a european mainland departure point into London

Wouldnt the no-show on the outbound portion of a return ticket invalidate the inbound one (the one the op would like to use) though?

One more thing to look into before taking the plunge and buying a round trip ticket i would think

I was assuming that he'd be booking a single one way ticket for collection in bangkok or if it will only work on a return ticket a bangkok to london return
