Are there any local electric scooter service shops nearby?

I have one like pictured below.

Changing tire inner tubes is a pain and I would rather have a shop handle it. Does anyone know a place that does tire changes on Scooters? I haven't been able to find one locally (Pattaya). Bangkok has them but is too far.

@forcebwithu might know. He's quite knowledgeable about bicycle stuff, and may know a Pattaya bicycle shop that could change that small a tire.

When I saw the OP's post I was wondering how hard it was to change an e-scooter tube. Found this guide on how to do it (link) and now understand how it's more involved than a simple bicycle tube replacement.

@simplebro, Any of the local motorbike shops should be able to do the replacement for you. Suggest printing out the instructions for your model, one with photos like in the link above, and bring the bike and instructions to a bike shop closest to you. Since they probably don't stock the size tube required, suggest you also have a bunch of spares on hand to give them each time you need a replacement done.

Friend who has an electric scooter in the UK recommends changing to solid tyres, ride isn't as good but seems puctures/blow-outs are common.

I have normal tires on my rental bikes.

I have been riding around for about 6 months.

I would guess I average about 5 miles or 8 k a day.

I have never had a flat tire.

I strongly recommend air tires in Thailand. i switched to solid tires on my first scooter and regretted it. The rattling was so bad I lost 2 plastic parts to it and the battery came loose (which is why i bought another). i also took a fall after hitting a modest dip in the asphalt. Air tires serve as a very basic suspension for these cheap machines, and that is really needed on low quality roads.

Could try NInja bikes on the Darkside (They have a FB page with contact details on). They specialise in electric bikes and Scooters though more bikes than Scooters I think.

Stopped there for an hour a few weeks ago when I got caught in the rain cycling to the lake, they had a selection of electric bikes in the shop and the guy out the front was busy building electric batteries up so they seemed to know what they were doing. They may have had Scooters on display as well but to be honest I didn't notice as I was to busy looking at the bikes!

I also recommended air tires and folding Scooters. These are collapsible and lightweight. My mate's experience is good with an electric scooter.

Thanks for the recommendation.

I have a bad back from a car accident and I must have top notch suspension.

I tried a Honda PCX, ADV and Forza 350.

As well as a Yamaha Aerox and NMax.

The Honda Forza is the only one that does not cause me any pain if I hit an unsuspecting bump or pot hole.

It is a big bike compared to the others but I was used to 1000+ in the USA so I still can zip around fairly easily on the Forza.

Parking is a little of a challenge, but there are many locations with "Big Bike" parking.

If not I have never spent more than a minute finding a parking spot.

I haven't bought one for me yet, but I've been thinking of buying one of these for my Forza.

To try staying marginally on topic...they do come in smaller to larger sizes, so might well be appropriate for electric scooter size seats and bums looking for a little air cushioned comfort.

On my 500cc bike I spent a bit over $1000 USD swapping out the front and rear suspension components. I ended up with a MUCH better/more comfortable ride, but I can see where if an $75 USD pad does the job, might as well call it done. 🙂

That looks like a copy of the Airhawk seat cushion. An Airhawk saved my butt when I rode San Francisco to Sturgis, S.D. in 1.5 days. My butt was so sore I wouldn't even attempt to ride further. Bought the Airhawk from a vendor and it was literally like riding on air. I believe it is geared more for increasing seat/butt comfort over long periods rather than enhancing riding over bumpy roads. They also make the same cushions for wheelchairs.
