hi.all....i read on some other topic that you get sick in this hotel. i stayed there in september and returned home after one week coughing up flem until christmas.

 

is it true that it could be from dodgy aircon????????

 

please help me as i was going to stay there again in less than two weeks!!!

That can happen anywhere there is air con if it is not cleaned properly bacteria fungi and even viruses can build up in the dust and dirt inside the unit that circulates the air within the room.

All it needs is for someone who was ill to have been in the room before.

Ideally the air con should be cleaned and washed with a chemical that kills the bacteria fungi and viruses not just brushed or vacuumed.

If you are that worried why not try the Irish Rovers next door. Even then there are no guarantees all depends whether they are cleaned properly and how often.

Lets just put it this way. Myself and 2 other bm's stayed there this week and after 3 days, moved out with flu symptoms.

 

BM deadman also copped it over January. I wont stay there again.

Never had ANY problems whilst there, my mate had superior room and i had a standard, nice friendly reception, clean and well decorated rooms. Maybe your symptoms were down to Hardcore mongering, late nights and copious amounts of alcohol??

Hi 'AL', We have our air-cons cleaned on a regular basis, and thankfully we haven't had any complaints, from our Guests who have stayed here, or who are staying here..It is money well spent, in the interest of our Guests.

One of the cleanest hotels i have stayed in , i always get flu like symptoms whenever in Patts I am sure a contributing factor may be the air cond, but im sure the travel, drinking, mongering , kissing girls where god knows where there mouths were 2 minutes ago etc all contribute as well as going to bed with the aircond on full pelt

checked out last sunday after 4 nights no problems, found it to be clean and friendly but there is plenty of choice around to choose from.

The Dirty aircons have always been something I have Wondered about , I doubt most Places clean their air cons and If they do I wonder if is cleaned properly ?

 

Did the Pasadena have the wall mounted units or the built in system ? I prefer hotels with the wall mountes units as they are less likely to have mold issues

One problem might be if you keep the air con on at night while sleeping. I always turn it off.

Stayed there over xmas ,first time usually stay in Areca Lodge but alex from rock house recommended this place.Found it to be great ,no cold .Just f--ked from all the partying.Staying again there on of april.vERY clean
