Cheap flights on Air Asia from Aust......but,

So I was in Patts in Feb and after many trips to Bkk, I feel like a change.

I decided on a short trip to Angeles in the Phl and hopped on to Air Asia.

To my delight, they had ultra cheap fares - Melb - AC for AUD$425 return!!! Awesome I thought.

Until I looked at the times - getting there is ok, but the returning flights don't hook up in KL. Damn, only one flight a day on both legs.

Ok, I thought, another 6 nights in Patts will have to do (what a shame).

Again, cheap flights!!! Mel - Bkk for AUD$500. Horay!!!.....but wait a sec, whats this?

To hook up with my KL - Mel flight my only option is the 07:00 from Bkk.....that means getting up at.....or not going to bed at all

and going straight to the airport.....oh, fuck it, I'm too lazy.

I could spend the night in Bkk, but, nah too much stuffing around.

I could do Bangkok again.....nah, sick of there!

What to do?

Bloody Air Asia.....get my hopes up and then let me down.

My flight is the same mate on Thai, I plan to wake up around 4 and catch a cab from patts. My worry is checking out at 4 am??

i use em to go BKK to PNH...$100USD, round trip...cant beat it...times were ok for me...but then i just make it work cuz im pretty flexible when it comes to the clock.

I used t get the Thai flight out of BKK that left at 6.00am.

 

I would stay out til about mid night. Barfine back to room for a short time, piss her off, shower, finish packing. Checkout 2.00am ish. Taxi to Airport, arriving just before 4.00am, check in and sleep most of the way home. No probs.

I am fortunate that I catch the sunday flight from the gold coast. Gets into KL at 4am and a direct flight to clarke at 7.15am. Not so good on the way back as I end up with a six hour lay-ver in KL but the savings do make it worth while and I can always get the bus into town for a look around.

the best flight is with thai airways.from sydney leave at 8.45am- land in bkk at 2.15pm.$1096. through customs & in a cab by 3pm..in hotel by 5pm. showered & shaved & bollock deep in Soi 6 at 6pm.

Mmm, maybe I could follow Shuggy's lead.....it is such a cheap flight....no need to imagine what the extra $500 I'm saving in airfare can be spent on....is a taxi still the same price at such an ungodly hour?

But damn, I was hoping for AC, just for a change.

Maybe I could do Phuket....flights work out.

A friend of mine just booked a Mel/BBK return flight for August,with taxes for $514....wow! Apparently there's a whole bunch of cheap flight running all through this year,but they're going quick.

i booked an air asia flight in november goldcoast to bangkok return $148 yes $148!!!!!!

 

internet special, no pay for air fare, taxes only and no fuel levy anymore, i have flown 6 times last year and twice so far this year with another 3 trips booked and payed for this year, all air asia all under $500 aus

me and a mate went to the travel expo in Brisbane, got return flights out of brisbane, land in Brunei, transfers to 4 star motel (on way over and back) then back next day to fly to Bangkok with upgraded travel insurance all up for $1132.00....we were happy with the package the Flight Centre gave us....and we hit Patts in june '09

Not the last time i was in bkk, as that was the damn airport shit trouble, but the last few times i have caught the early flight out of bkk direct to melb.

 

It never bothers me because when in bkk i'm never asleep at that hour anyway................lol.

 

Just gotta get your girl out, not easy as last dip for a long time, then jump in cab and before you know it your on the plane crying your eyes out!!!
