Northern Ireland back to the old days

I know many people on the forum probably dont understand the conflict that has gone on in northern ireland over the past 35 years. But i am 24 and have grown up with this shit and i am sick of it. Now there has been a ceasfire for over 15 years and tonight 08_03_09 the dissidnet republicans have attacked a british army base in antrim they pulled up in a pizza delivery van and opened fire on innocent british army personnel there is 2 army men dead and 4 in intensive care.

 

And people ask me why i go to pattaya,well why the fuck do they think, i am sick of this shit i have grew up with it and i think this is the last straw its not the kind of environment i want to bring my kids up in these scumbags trying to break a ceasfire!!! i know now there will be retaliation for this attack and n.ireland will be back to the 1980,s when you couldnt walk the streets.

 

I know this has got fuckall to do with pattaya but i am just letting people know why i like to travel to pattaya to let my hair down and i have never seen 1 bit of violence in pattaya back home i see violence everyday and am fucking sick of it why cant everyone just live in peace like in the l.o.s.

 

The quicker i get rich the better because i want out of this shit hole i call HOME.

I know very well what you are talking about I lived in Belfast in the late 60's, Bernadette Devlin, civil rights marches, B Specials disbanded, then having to bring the army in.

thank you mate but tonite in belfast there was a c.i.r.a attack and i know this is the start of this shit again thats why i hate this country so much.

 

dont get me wrong northern ireland is a lovely country but it has to many scumbags who want to ruin the country. but the s.a.s has now came into northern ireland and will hopefully sort these scumbags out.watch bbc news it is the top headline at the minute.

i hate, with the intensity of the the sun, any sub-human cockroach that would knowingly and wilfully open fire on innocents (in a war zone, excusable mistakes are made), or strap a bomb to themselves and blow up a cafe or bus, or plant a roadside bomb, or highjack a plane, etc...

 

i dont care where they come from or where they do it...if caught, they should be subject to the slowest and most painful death possible, simple as that.

I know what you are feeling..or perhaps I don't....I was in Derry '81 to '83 and had 2 friends killed during the hunger strike riots in an ambush outside Rosemount and went back '87 to '89..3 more friends were killed in Belfast and Coalisland and my house was blown up on Pond Park..The IRA targetted my young sons coming out of school along with their classmates.BASTARD COWARDS!

But in the early '80s it WAS every day..or certainly seemed that way.....and nobody wants to see that again..Even Martin Mc Gunniss (spelt correctly IMO) said so on this morning's news...

it certainly was everyday in the 70s/80s and early 90's (thanks to martin and his mates). you don't need to tell me. my father served 30yrs in the RUC (survived 2 murder bids) and my uncle was shot while serving in the police.

but this is northern ireland mate as long as the provos are still runnuing about there is still the threat of violence a few months ago the police found numerous roadside bombs mostly round fermanagh intended to kill or maim the services

What was the point of the orignal post ? was it to to vent your anger at the current state of affairs or to open the floor to reviving old arguements.

As I am from Ireland I do totally agree with you that after so much violence and bloodshed and loss on both sides that peace was great and welcomed by everyone and that has changed the north for the better as you no doubt as the op has grown up there. As I currently do not know the reasons why the peace was broken I cannot comment on it nor will I.As on addicts as I feel that this is a place where we can all enjoy eachothers experiences reguardless where we are from ,as you can see from the responses it has provoked already , it has obviously opened a few wounds . Funny you dont see posts from the yanks about Iraq or anyone else for that matter .Now can we please get back to discussing pussy, tits and sexy thai honeys.
