  • Non-Immigrant Type (Retirement (pensioner aged 50 or above with a state pension who wants to stay in Thailand for no longer than 90 days) - single entry only)
  •
  • Financial evidence e.g. A copy of pension statement if the applicant is a pensioner, or a copy of 1-month bank statement showing your income from pension, or 3-month bank statement of at least £10,000
  • Confirmation of legal residence in the UK or Ireland

^^ This is the current information showing on the RTE London website.

The bold blue headline text suggests this type of visa is only available to those in receipt of the state pension.

The follow up paragraph seems to suggest otherwise.

Can anyone confirm that there's every likelihood I would be granted an O visa by being over 50 yo & meeting the financial requirements but NOT via a STATE pension?

TIA

Yes you can. Just show at least £10k in your account for 3 months or more.

Remember, under the Covid rules they now require you to have the same Health Insurance as is required for the Non O-A but you will NOT need it for subsequent Extensions of Stay.

Edit: as it’s a 90 day visa, the Health Insurance and Covid Insurance will only need to be valid for 90 days.
