Avani Pattaya Resort

Thanking about setting up a reservation at the Avani once Pattaya opens back up. Just have two questions about it if anyone knows. Do they still institute a 1000 baht joiner fee? Also, any word about the quality remaining high as it has in the past? According to the latest reviews on TripAdvisor it sounds like the quality is still there.

I stayed there a few times when it was a Marriott, I always booked for 2 people and they used to waive the joiners fee after some arguments at reception.

You could also bring in a girl via the back of the hotel to avoid reception, I forget the exact route, of course it may not be there now.

My experience also dates back to when it was a Marriott. Great property then, and from what I've read still is. Never was asked to pay a joiner fee, but they may have turned a blind eye as I had platinum status at the time.

I've been there post Marriott. The quality of service is the same and they actually refreshed many of the rooms. At the time, 2 years ago, they had a joiner fee, but I don't remember the exact number. Good hotel but if you are going to be bringing lots of girls back, it might be a hassle.

Have stayed there dozens of times over the years and have brought many girls back to the room with never a joiner fee.  Last visit was September 2019 and didn’t pay a joiner fee then either.

While I miss it being Marriott, I like the refresh they did and many of the staff remained; got comped to a terrace suite last few times I’ve been there under Avani.

Don’t know what changes may have taken place since COVId.

I know this is not one of your questions, but just a comment.

All are completely different, but they have some nice restaurants associated with Avani.  Here is a link.

I recommend these two:

  • Benihana (American Style Japanese, a dinner and a show, located on Beach Road)
  • Dicey Reilly's Bar and Restaurant (English, Irish Pub, with Thai options for girls, and Pizza oven, located on Second Road)

The have or had a nice Thai Restaurant (the name escapes me) in the inside but I do not see it anymore in the link.
