Its a start,but only 50,000 shots arriving next month is nothing much to get excited about

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the AstraZeneca the least effective out of the top 4 major vaccines?

it's not as good as the pfizer and moderna vaccines, but better than the sinovac one.

if you include the russian sputnik and sinopharm vaccine, then astrazeneca is something like the 4th best one out of 6.

Correct but it’s a fraction of the cost ($3.50 as opposed to $30) and it doesn’t need to be transported at -70.

Not ideal but I think we do have to give a little leeway to the government here on both factors. As another BM pointed out yesterday the logistics of shifting the Pfizer one huge distances are prohibitive. That then comes down to “is any vaccine better than no vaccine” - I don’t profess to know the answer to that question so won’t speculate.

pfizer needs -60 to -80, and moderna needs -20.  most countries simply don't have the cold chain capacity to transport these vaccines.

i remember reading somewhere that only around 30 countries have the cold chain infrastructure to support ultracold vaccine transportation.
