@whitespiderI’m not sure this is a geolocation problem. For instance:

https://forum.pattaya-addicts.com/Flags/United States.gif gives a “404 not found”

It correctly geolocates the user to the US. It’s just that the .gif file is missing from the /Flags folder. May also have to do with your CDN not mirroring the image.

OK guys. Firstly thanks to Touchagrey for info.

Seems I was given the wrong info about the geolocation thing.

I’ve checked a few other forums and, those I checked, have the “Home Country” field turned off. Probably for the same reason.

Im going to see if we can get an answer but if not I will probably turn the “home country” field off.

The “location” field will remain.

I should point out both fields are optional. Most members seem to complete them but not all. We won’t make them compulsory due to the fact we have always made members anonymity a high priority.

All we have done is remove the images in their entirety.

There are now two fields

1. Location i.e. where people are now so you can change this if in Pattaya for example.

2. Home Country

BOTH of these are set by Members and they can complete 1,2 or none of them at all.

The ball is now firmly in Members courts but i bet I will get another thread, soonish, saying "why doesnt my location show" etc.
