Thais returning to Pattaya

It seems to me that the scarcity of Westerners in Pattaya has encouraged many more Thai people to visit Pattaya and adjacent areas such as Jomtien and Wongamat/Naklua. I'm not talking about the big weekends designed to attract Thais. I'm talking about week days. Visiting the beaches and shopping centres around Pattaya I have noticed more Thai families enjoying the facilities. Maybe a cultural thing. While Westerners dominated the Pattaya scene, Thais were reluctant to intrude or possibly didn't like to mix with us. Now we are fewer in numbers Thais are visiting. Perhaps this is the future for Pattaya so restaurants, shoos and entertainment venues to survive need to change to meet the needs of Thais and Thai families now and in the future.
