Hotels similar to Penthouse

I have read the many problems with the Penthouse hotel.  However, I am still intrigued by the ambiance at the Penthouse.  Is there any other hotel that offers the same amenities.  Such as mirrors, dance pole, sex swing, jacuzzi in room and an indoor swimming pool.

Thanks

not that i know of.
there are places with mirrors of course and rooms with jacuzzis (simply make a search for that term in thread title and you should find quite a few listings). but nothing that is striclty focused on being a "sex hotel".

Thanks for the info.  I have read more bad than good reviews here.  Tripadvisor has more good than bad reviews.  I think I will have to give it a try for a week on my next 30 day trip.  Never saw a sex swing before could be fun.  It is also the only hotel I know of anywhere that is just about Sex.  That is why we all come to Pattaya.

i think most people would probably suggest to book it for less than a week. so maybe do 3-4 days and it's highly likely that you can easily prolong your stay if you're inclined to do so after a few days (unless it's during absolute peak season aka x-mas / nye)

i've never been there. read a lot of reviews as well, but in the end never pulled the trigger. so i cannot give you any personal feedback.

I booked 3 nights at penthouse a couple years ago. Ended up staying only 2 of the 3 nights cause it’s really kind of a shithole. More roaches than I’ve ever seen in any hotel. Bathroom flooded twice, first a leak beneath the sink, and second toilet overflowed on its own, without ever being flushed, no idea how that happens. Did have some cool features as mentioned but also found it impossible to find any spot I the room where I could make my daily video call to the wife with out some crazy shit in the background.
moral of the story, stay for one night just to check it out, one night will be enough.

What type of room are the photos from?

I appreciate the advice.   I was originally looking at Babylon Spa Suite for 7 days.    I think I may upgrade room to the Babylon champagne garden but only for 2 or 3 nights.  I know i am taking a risk on losing money if i cannot stand it.  But hell i am only getting divorced once.  (I hope)  I am planning a total of 30 days in Thailand.

The room in the pictures is just a standard room to the best of my recollection. I think I was the only guest in the hotel at the time and it had this weird occult, hotel California feel.

Its definitely in a good location though, if ws is where you want to be.

The hotel california vibe is kind of what I expected.  I know it is run down and old but I think it is the only hotel of it's type left in the world.  When i was young there were many honeymoon/resorts in the USA Pocono mountains that were similar.  Adult only with champagne shaped hot tubs, swings and dance poles in the rooms.  Never went to one.  They are all gone now.

Got to try it.  If i hate it.  I will treat the money loss as a learning experience.  There are many other hotels in Pattaya.  I think 3 days should be enough for me to experience it.

Every time I walk past The Penthouse, It gives a creepy vibe perched above failed and abandoned gogos like The Kitten Club.  Other than Classroom the rest of the Soi is either a restaurant, tattoo shop or massage.  I looked into staying there a decade ago and heard about the cockroach issue then.  Seen quite a few porn movies and creampie flicks shot there too.

You're not wrong.

The Penthouse would have been extraordinary in it's prime, incredibly quirky with prolific attention to detail and great effort put in by the owner not only to the architecture and geometry of the rooms but to the contents and furnishings too. The passage of time though hasn't been kind to the PH. It's glory days are long gone and the resulting faded grandeur isn't something to be latterly enjoyed.

I stayed there a few years ago, and the place was almost empty, maybe one or two other guests drifting around who looked shell-shocked as they probably booked online and expected something far more sophisticated and functioning.

The plumbing leaked, the complicated room lighting was chaotic and confusing, the furnishings and decoration were worn out and the staff surly and miserable. The famed non-stop porno on the in-house TV system was from the 1980s and the access sliding doors to the terrace wouldn't lock so presenting a serious security risk. The place was a shambles and yet the haughty owner acted like the Lord of the Manor, he was living in a world of his own manufacture and refused to see the place for what it had become. The ground floor nightclubs have closed, and so watching the girls and trannies on the in-house cctv and summoning them to your room via a phone call is off the menu these days.

In it's heyday, it would have been a fabulous place to stay, but regrettably that's no longer the case.

The staff were unfriendly and borderline hostile, I don't think they enjoyed working for Dudley, the eccentric owner, who by all accounts was mired in troubles of his own and was keen to sell but was asking five million dollars for his tumbledown mansion and no-one was willing to meet the asking price.

If you plan on giving it a whirl, one night is more than enough.

Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Ok I have decided to cut it to two nights.  Thank you for the detail you provided.  I started out thinking i would book for 3 weeks.  After joining PA and reading reviews here I settlled on 1 week.  I decided to make this post and have been convinced to go from 1 week to 3 days to 2 days.  If find that I absolutely love the place, I can always book more time, it seems they have many vacancies.  I am also limiting my cost if i hate the place and will not stay even 1 night.

I do believe different people have different tastes.  There is nothing wrong with that.

I will post reviews of my experience after my stay.  Or perhaps immediately after I  go screaming into the night after spooning a very large cockroach.  555.

You also have to consider what makes the girls you bring to your room feel comfortable, and it may not be the Penthouse at this point in time. Sure, try it out for a day or two to satisfy your curiosity, but one of the keys to Pattaya is clicking with your guests and a nicer hotel will help.

There's at least one other hotel on the Soi, The Red Balcony. Think I read somewhere it has a joiner fee. Stayed at The Classroom twice. Feb/Mar this year and Sept last year. Saw no cockroaches either visit. Will be on the lookout porn movie and cream pie flick production on my next visit.

I gather there are different types of room eg with/without jacuzzi.

Might get a good deal at present if you contact manager Hoshi.

wow the penthouse hotel sure does bring back memories

must be 25 yrs when me and my brother stayed there

the place was briliant way back then it was allways our first choice for hotels in pataya

the breakfast was the best in pataya they even cooked black pudding

but sure was a weird hotel  lol

my biggest gripe was the late night noise from the clubs close by

mainly boys town

24hr porn on tv was great lol
