@AlantheBuilder , Al do you get a lot of request to build houses  from BM's on here or does your building come from other areas

BMs ?
We get Emails from.lots of people But a lot of our work comes from X Pats that have lived here for a long time already and have a wife and somtimes children .
A lot work in Oil an Gas off shore .

So here we go very tight place to build no room to move and have to build in a step by step way .

I dont normaly punlish the house cost over the Net as it might ioset the client .
Also the price for this house includes garden walls and outdoor kitchens .
Decrotive front walls and Auto slide gate many factors .
I can PM you details but maybe look this forum and see what we do first .

Alan I’m currently working overseas and don’t intend to return to LoS until next year. The missus and I currently have a house in Udon Thani and we are considering an offer from a neighbor to sell it. If we do, we will be contacting you regarding new build of a house on land we have our eye on in Udon.

However, plan B is that if we don’t sell to the neighbor, we might just stay put and build a 2 story extension onto our house...do you do that sort of thing?

@AlantheBuilder It looks like a very nice house.

I have always wondered though, why do they build houses out of cement blocks in LOS, but build them out of wood and stucco in the west, even in hot and humid environments? Is it a cost consideration, or availability of wood or some other reason? Considering that Thailand has earthquakes I would rather be in a wood house personally.

I should probably let @AlantheBuilder answer, but if I had to guess, termites would be the answer; I know when I moved from Canada to Western Australia for a four-year stint, I was surprised that the houses all seemed to be made out of either masonry or cement, and termite resistance was given as the answer when I asked.

Yes Termites are a big problem also wood very costly .
We don use concrete blocks we use light weight insulation blocks .
We build to last !
