How many times can you get visa exemption?

I emailed thai embassy in sweden asking how many times I can get visa exemption per year but they didnt answer and the info isnt on their site.

wikipedia says there is no limit when you enter via airport. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_policy_of_Thailand#30_days_exemption_(51_nations)

This site says two times: http://www.thaiembassy.org/london/en/services/7742/84451-Tourist-Visa.html

Other forums says different things like its up to the immigration officer and 6 times since 2015 when they started counting gets you flagged etc.

Anyone know for a fact ?

I don’t think it’s actually officially stated anywhere.  I’ve got 13 visa exempt stamps for the past three years and never been questioned.  I fly again tomorrow so it will be 14.

If you are concerned, just get a visa.   But even with a visa, you are not guaranteed entry.

Last year I come and go 6 times, without any problems, so at least 6 :-)

Officially (as in, by law)

  • By air - no limit
  • By land - 2 times in a calendar year

Unofficially (as in by feedback/reports)

  • By air - 6 times in a 12 month period likely to get you flagged for closer inspection at immigration; entry or denial at the whim of the IO and on your travel history
  • By land - 2 times in a calendar year

I think it at the  discretion of IO

If you have a legitimate reason i gather as much as you like.

If it a issue for you get a METV

I know of FIFO workers being asked lately and they have been doing  it for years.

From watching TV easy visa recommends it just the case of showing your pay slips to show you got work to go to and your not working in thailand all should be fine

Basically you got show reason you're leaving or what your entering so many times for.

Ask a silly question and i'll leave a silly answer

Would have been easier if you googled it yourself.

In 2018 I had 3

But I think as long as you leave the country by plane then you are eligible for another on your return.

Did 3 SETV on top of each other (2 days out of the country) last year and was questioned the second time and almost sent back the third time.

As previously stated there are no formal laws against several tourist visas (or visa exempts) but as this and other forums can tell you; there is a heavy crackdown on us "long term tourists".
