Ristorante Ossobuco

This could go in the Under 300 Baht and Good thread, but since it is not a Central Pattaya place and also off the beaten path for most, I decided to break the topic out.

A friend recommended Ossobuco to me, and the guy has been on the money a few other times. I thought it was very good cheap eats.

Their FB page has little on it, so I will not post the link. There are numerous favorable Trip Advisor reviews about Ossobuco.

You need transportation for this place. We went by car. Motor bike would be better for most, as parking a car around the restaurant is doable, but also a bit of a pain. I chose to drive in by going by Cafe des Amis, as I know where that is and there is a direct route from CDA to Ossobucco. Bad choice by me in that direct route is a rough road. A better route for me would be coming up soi 5 past Mexican Mikes and working your way in. In any case, I suggest having the phone up front in the car or mounted on your bike with Google Maps at the ready, if you are unfamiliar with the area.

Ossobuco is al fresca, but has pretty decent fans at work. It is a smallish place, but pleasant at the same time despite being on a moderately busy street. Here is a view from the patio where we sat. I meant to take a frontal view as well, but spaced out as we were  leaving.

They have Pasta, Pizza, meat entrees, salads, and Thai food. There are numerous pasta selections. I saw pizza being brought to some nearby tables and it looked good. I ordered Pasta Putenesca and it was very good. I had never seen it served before with a shell like pasta (usually it is with Linguine or Spaghetti), but it was very enjoyable the way they served it. btw - why is linguine never an option in Pattaya? 

The GF had a Papaya Salad and did not seem to care for it. She humored me and said it was ok. Most of it went back to the kitchen.

Will I return. Yes from time to time, probably by bike on a night when the GF wants to go gossip with her lady friends.

Oh - total bill with these food items, a Leo, and a Coke was under 300.

Have to say, never noticed this place and I pass by almost daily and nightly-backroads to avoid BIB, but will check it out.

I drove past it once and barely saw it when I came back. They need a bigger sign. It is next to a hair salon which has 75 baht haircuts. Like I said, I would turn on Google Maps for a first trip. Despite being a lesser known out of the way place, they draw a decent enough crowd. Must have been 6 tables in use on the night we were there.
