Where to meet up at BKK after arriving

Featured Replies

I'm on international flight, she is ln domestic

Last time I suggested meeting outside the Food Court on level 1, however it was absolutely chaos with Chinese tour groups & not pleasant to wait there

Next week, I want somewhere quiet with seating and was thinking there used to be plenty of seats on level 2 at the other end of the terminal, ie gate 1 end, which was fairly quiet & not busy

Does this seem sensible, any flaws to the plan ?.

Thanks for any thoughts

The basement level is usually quite quiet and there is a decent little place to sit and eat near the elevator. another advantage is you get excellent rates of exchange at the basement money Kiosks compared to those upstairs and even better rates in some of them than you get in Pattaya.

There is a fairly large seating area near the Pattaya 389 bus kiosk, many Thai's milling around too in case your TG needs to talk about/ask something.

Thank you for the replies.

The issue with the basement area is that its quite dark, and after having had no sleep, I need somewhere bright to stay awake :)

To help you sleep, get a prescription for Valium before you leave home and drop one after the first meal is consumed. Make sure you get a couple of glasses of wine or scotch with your meal.

I did this last trip and it was the first time I got a decent sleep going to Thailand.

Just to update, the far end past Gate 1 on Floor 2 is great place to wait.

Very quiet & plenty of seats, and the Domestic Arrivals exit is right next to it.

Title seems fitting and following on from Jay's post above. The company I use for my transport always send me little annotated maps for meeting points etc. Hope it helps someone else (obviously just for guidance) as a first timer I found it easy to follow.

Great map Mattl3, thanks for posting that, hope it helps many more people

The area I sat to wait, with quiet seating & no crowds, was the area labled Domestic at the far left, next to Exit A
