Stopping for crossings is a major risk until the very real prospect of being rear ended and ironed out by those who don't is negated

they use cheap paint that fades quickly in the sun (plus wear and tear). the other thing is these initiatives are enforced till the local media invited to note the clampdown vanish into the distance. then normal service is resumed once the photo op is done

Gee, I would like to see that enforced and be able to walk across with the fear of getting run over!

Aye you’re right , maybe should be only on the busiest zebra crossing such as zebra crossing on second rd by Made in Thailand... I often see many cars drove through the red light on zebra crossings ..

As I alluded to earlier its a self perpetuating problem because if you stop the likelihood is you'll get rear ended.

If on two wheels and the first to stop ...possibly the last stop you'll ever make

I hope they make a better job of maintaining the lights than the last time they did on Beach Road a couple of years ago.  It was my misfortune to be holed-up in KFC at Royal Garden Plaza (sheltering from a sudden downpour) where I had a bird's-eye view of the freshly refurbed crossing.  The lights were continuously sequencing through their 16-or-so second sequence  -  without human intervention and ......WTF..... both pedestrian and road lights were both on green for 6 seconds.  I timed it and couldn't believed what I was seeing!!  What lighting engineer would set them up like that  -  and what Safety Management/QA Engineer would sign that off as "job done"?  I seem to recall it was like that for a couple of days.

If crossing on a green light  -  beware.
