Mead at bars/restaurants

Featured Replies

Does anyone know a bar or restaurant that serves mead?  With all the tourists and independent business owners; surely one business has got to serve mead.  Its something out of the ordinary for tourists to try.

I can't even get a decent pint of ale mate, so best of luck with the mead!

You should try Canada.  All the craft beers are indian pale ale.  Can't get a decent stout or lager from the craft beers though.

Corner of LK and Diana - Craft Cottage has overpriced craft beers, not sure about mead.

Craft beers are taxed astronomicaly in Thailand due to the local beer monopoly.

Monopoly? 555   Do you mean ' looking after local producers' instead of importing some obscure alternative to satisfy tourists ??? :Crazy1:

Not quite. Thailand is an oligarchy of a small number of people/companies that own everything. It's one of the most unequal societies on the planet due to the lack of enforcement of fair competition in the market.

Singha beer had a monopoly untill the 80's when Thaibev introduced beer Chang. They are the only 2 players and purposely limit competition so they can get mega rich.

Do your own research pal.

At the end of the day it fucks it all up because we can't drink fairly priced craft beer and have to drink overpriced mass produced shite.

In Bangkok their is a thriving craft beer scene.loads of craft beer bars. But it's a luxury product that you have to pay over the odds for due to the misguided tax policy.

But I do like a nice craft beer and ale and IPA's and sour beers and so on.

Do you really want me to offer you a simple solution to your problem ???  5555

No. I'm not interested in your inane drivel. I'd rather take advice from a lobotomised dog.

Many places....fermented honey and water mixture...with some local erbs thrown in.

I had some at a Meadery in SW WA a few years ago.....sweet but yum.   I brew beer at home...wouldn’t mind brewing some, but the bees are hard to catch.

not if they took out the bits that know about monopolies and their vast difference to oligopolies...and lets not bring duopolies into it.

Enough....or I’m sure you will both go directly to goal.....jail for our US friends who may want to play along.

Nice. I love a nice craft beer. The UK has loads to offer at fair prices. It's a brilliant thing. Have no experience with Mead.

Is honey hard to find in Australia then?
