Dinner time! Went on a bar crawl with some fellow BMs today therefore no lunch. Pretty drunk too! So tonight's late option is my favourite... Tikka sticks from the guy opposite endless bar. 50b each. And I sat on the street to eat them too!

Dinner - Indian at Tikka Center on soi buakhow. With my mate from Bangkok, we had a feast. Poppadoms, naan bread, onion bhajis, chicken ginger, pilau rice and Tikka massala. Total came to 840 baht. I enjoyed this one more than Ali Baba's. On Klang.

Breakfast at retox on soi honey for the big fight. Small Breakfast (145b) + black pudding (40b) with free coffee and OJ.

Better options around for sure, just convenient for the fight.

The recipe I used is from my gf's aunt, who's from the South. It's all in Thai lol I just followed her translation.

Its too light and not rich enough.  You also dont put potatoes in it as well.

You're questioning his gf's aunts recipe that he obviously enjoys?

Also pretty sure there's been potatoes in every masaman curry that I've had. :Think1:

Yes there are potatoes in it and every massaman curry I've had, includes potatoes in it.

I never claimed to be a master in the kitchen, nor do I aspire to be. :D

That is the excellent chicken tikka from Mr Bau or sometimes his daughter. I visit a few times a week, love his Tikka.

Looks great.  Amazing how expensive Indian food is in Pattaya.   Cheaper in first world countries where Indian food is better..ie Singapore, USA.

I stand corrected.   Several chefs from Thailand have said that original massaman is without potatoes but potatoes added because cheaper.  I have never made it with potatoes and make my curry paste from scratch.  It is originally a muslim based dish normally made in Southern Thailand.   My apologies.

Mr Bau now has competition. There is another Tikka vendor doing the rounds, usually around buakhow/new plaza area during the evenings.

Not sure about that. Maybe it did look great before it was mostly eaten. :Laugh1:

I have also tried all Mr Bau's other chicken and pork and must say, bang average.

Carl's JR

Ranch burger, chicken strips and french fries. 240baht I think the total was.

My verdict : not great. Probably lower down the fast food rankings.

I recall seeing this Tikka cart a couple of time but never quite managed to taste something from his kitchen. I will make it a point to sample his wares next time. Is his location primarily near Tree Town on Buakhaw.
