Booked my flight from Manchester with Qatar Airways in September flight cost £493 Flying new years eve good flight times

 

Now just looked it has gone up to £800 !!!  Even flights with crap layover time are expensive 

how’s the war started in the middle east lol

Isn’t it obvious? 3 weeks before departure, xmas and new year period.

I’m not massively surprised by that. No doubt will be £1k the week before.

Not the same as June with empty planes.

Anyway, getting a flight for £500 is good at any time of year. I’ve been paying £550 in low season. Enjoy your hols!

Paid £498. For June flight this year. And £487 last new yrs eve.   Flying new yrs eve again as it was £250 cheaper flying than just before  Christmas and New Year 

that’s why can’t understand the £300 extra

Flights become more expensive, the closer to date of flying. Basic economic supply & demand

 

My Emirates flight from Newcastle, out to Sri Lanka 30/12/19 & return from Saigon mid-Feb 2020 was £507 when I bought it several months ago. The same economy flight is now £1245.

Paid £411 for KLM  INV-AMS-BKK  departing 29th May.   If I go from Aberdeen it was going to be £481. Both hand luggage only. Checked baggage is plus £60. 

Emirates from Edinburgh or Glasgow  was starting  about  £560 -£600  when I was looking to book. 

BA was going to be over £600 from Aberdeen 

Cheaper flights were available from southern airports,but once you factor in the cost of getting  down south it's gonna cost more for us northerners.

Same same every Christmas/New year 
I booked a flight direct EVA economy Lon-Bangkok return  Dec 17 /5 weeks ago cost me £1000 last time I looked it had gone up to £1200

Premium economy had sold out

It is run of the mill to get flights from UK-Bangkok for less than £500  in May/June even direct flights
