Article didn't state the ship was struggling, just taking shelter from the wind and waves. Probably done more for the comfort of the passengers than any real danger to the ship.

It should be a standard stop for them. All the husbands are probably happy. 

That's an awfully big ship for 174 tourists...

they mostly pull in to lam chabang. i bet the captain knew with the wind that might be tricky so easier to hove to and wait nearby
