Is the 1yr retirement extension for O visa multi-entry?

We are looking at getting the O Visa (both >50) which we understand is 90 day single entry.  If we then get the 1 year retirement extension, is this then valid for multi entry?

The slightly fuller story is that we both quit work within the last couple of weeks, sold the house, and now going travelling; although we're not planning to live in Thailand, we will be regular visitors for durations that will often exceed 60 days and maybe even 90 days.  This first trip is 5 Dec 2019 - 22 Apr 2020, with a mid trip flit back to the UK, and then we're touring across Europe until November 2020 when we will be back, but plans often change.

Just to make it easier to get in and out we started the O-A applications and got both the criminal and medical certificates but the first indicative costs for the medical insurance to meet the O-A requirements was £2900 for both of us which is just too much.

Also the METV is tempting for this first trip.

Thanks in advance

You buy a re-entry permit to use with your 1-year Extension. You can get either a single or a multiple so, to answer your question, yes you can get multi-entry with your 1 year extension.

I won’t go through all the financial requirements again here as they’re listed in other threads. Just time your Thailand visits so you can get a new extension each year at the same time.

That's the bit we needed.  Many thanks :08:

...and just for anyone else reading this thread, a bit more Googling shows costs as 3800THB for a multi-entry re-entry permit and 1000THB for Single Entry

Cheers

Yes Multi is 3800 and Single 1000. You can apply also in airport before your departure and its much faster process in there (you only sign and they take picture). Prices in airport multi 4000 and single 1000.

Can you do this from any airport?  Say Manila where I'll be flying from. I carry a US Passport. Where at the airport is this done. Thanks

It might help if you read the question as you have rather confused things

The 1 year Retirement extension is NOT multi-entry

I am locking this thread as the OP has his answer and its best to not further confuse things.
