Pattaya to Chiangmai Bus

Anyone know the current schedule for bus from Pattaya to Chiangmai?

 

Also, is the bus a VIP style service with reduced and somewhat more comfortable seating?

No mate, but interested to find out too.

Can't give you the exact schedule but I know when I went up in November we left about 19:00 arriving in Chiang Mai about 10 hours later, yes it was VIP service which I found to be very good. Most of the ladies around town from that area can quote the schedule off by heart or at least call the station for you. Works for me!!!

Wolfy, can you remember if the bus went via Bangkok, ie, had to change there, or just 'direct' Also, what was the price please?

Buses from Pattaya to Chiang Mai depart from the Nakhonchai Air Bus Station.

This is the one on the left side of Sukhumvit Rd heading towards Sattahip just after the lights on Sukhumvit and Pattaya Klang (Central).

Schedule for Pattaya - Chiang Mai:

 

06:15 - regular bus

14:30 - VIP bus

16:00 - reg bus

17:25 - VIP bus

18:15 - air con bus

18:30 - VIP bus

19:00 - VIP bus

I took a bus in January from Chang Mai to Korat....my ass still hurts! It wasn't VIP though.

I tool the 7pm VIP and found it pretty good for that long a journey - they break half way to stretch your legs

Think its longer than the 9-10 hour trip quoted. I drove from Khorat to CM in 2008 and it was 12 hours with just a 20 minute stop and Khorat is a lot further north than Pattaya to start with.

Bus to Pattaya from Chiang Mai. Long ride. Many years ago I used a bus from the bus station on Sukhumvit to Korat and return to Pattaya. There might be buses from the bus station in Chiang Mai going to Korat. From there to Pattaya. Long ride for a single driver.
