The Lion pub in soi regional land closing, 

Havent been there for 2 years but used to be a good bar with decent food.

After yesterdays day at the races, we dropped in to Vientiane on Nerm Plub Wan, only to find a name change, which is now 'Nham Nuang'

Asked the waitress why, she said it had been sold, and the new owner wanted a name change.

End of an Era ...

Apart from the menu is the same, prices were the same, and the food was as good as ever.

has the builders in and another BM i know says it will be a coffee/cake place. ( note katesseri bar/hotel just round the corner and opposite buakaow hospital a hot coffee is 25 bht )

captain kebab (traditional amritsari cuisine)  on buakaow just south of action street has opened in the last couple of days. its been ready for months.

Quite surprised in a way I liked the food here and it always had a steadyish trade, don't they rent rooms (or is this another victim of new guesthouse regulations)?

They even still have banner advertising running here on PA!

Not sure, 2019 first year since 2008 I have not been able to make a trip. Bet Striderman knows?

Looked like it, the last time I passed, which I guess they thought might affect their business, hence try to sell it?

But I thought the food was awful, so I only ever made one visit.

he knows. word is i think by another BM on here that it will be another part of the Katiserri hotel group

terrible design. in this form i give it no chance. no menu on view so no idea of pricing or what varieties. hard even to tell if it's open or not.

beach rd. royal garden plaza/back entrance to the Avani hotel. yet another indian. the sheer number of more or less the same thing is resulting in some inventive names and spelling.....................

Have to admit that there was not much local custom, an indicator I use as when trying somewhere but I liked it as it was very local to where I stayed for 5 years.

I find the name confusing "Captain Kebab" ( Turkish/ M.East?) but its Indian, looks like they will have to compete with next doors street advertising.

Is it the same owner? Are they still renting rooms? Still advertising banners here on PA for the restaurant.

Sorry question relates to thai thai only cannot edit for some reason.
