Frenchman caused Thai woman to fall off Pattaya balcony becoming quadriplegic, then he fled abroad

The family of a 28 year old Thai woman who broke her spine in four places after falling five floors at a condominium in Pattaya have claimed that her French husband caused her to fall during an argument.

He has since gone abroad and refuses to take responsibility for what happened to his wife.

The Frenchman is believed to have helped run many nightclubs in both Pattaya and Bangkok and the family of the victim claims that he has used his influence with Pattaya police to escape justice in the case.

Sunisa, 28, from Surin, fell five floors from room 506 at the Art on the Hill condo in Soi 5, Pratumnak Hill back on June 16th at 2am. She is now quadriplegic - unable to walk or take care of herself having lost the use of all four limbs.

Yesterday Sunisa's mother Patcharaporn, 54 and her elder sister Natchaya, 32, went to human rights and problems in society lawyer Ronnarong Kaewpetch to ask him to help them seek justice for her.

aHR0cHM6Ly9zLmlzYW5vb2suY29tL25zLzAvdWQv

Sunisa was a "PR" woman working at a Walking Street club and had been living with her husband for about a year. The family said they frequently had jealous arguments and he often beat her up.

On the night of her fall she had argued with him over going to another room to get clothes. Her husband thought she was cheating on him.

According to Sunisa he kicked, slapped and punched her and squeezed her throat making her almost pass out. He barred her exit from the condo's locked main door and armed himself with a knife.

She tried to scream out but no one came to her aid so she ran to the balcony and called out. The husband managed to open the sliding door and barged out causing Sunisa to fall to the ground.

She didn't jump as police and doctors have mistakenly assumed.

Natchaya said she had given up her job to care for her sister and there have been virtually no developments in the case in the last three months.

The Pattaya police have refused to answer her repeated calls and shown no interest in the case bar talking to the family just once, she said.

The Frenchman was working as an "organizer" at a Pattaya nightclub but also had connections to other clubs in Pattaya and Bangkok, she claimed.

She alleged that he had used his connections and influence with the Pattaya police to escape prosecution in the matter.

Lawyer Ronnarong said it was a highly serious case. If the husband was guilty of causing his wife to fall he should have faced criminal and civil proceedings.

He said that he intended to take the matter up with the Crime Suppression Division police today (Friday).

Horrible story! No excuse to ever hit a woman and if he was truly responsible for her fall hope they manage to get some justice.

However, if it is supposed to be the girl in the picture then she cannot possibly be quadriplegic, as although in a wheelchair, she seems to be holding up the picture using both of her arms!

It is possible that her arms and hands were placed into  that position.

possible but if you are trying to get the public's sympathy , would you?

Things not adding up here , either lost in translation or I suspect ; as with many cases like these , both are hiding something

mate don't chat shit about something you know nothing about!

I'm afraid it is impossible.  The fact she is able to support her arms in that position (against gravity) tells me her MRC muscle grading proximally i.e. shoulder and elbows is at least 3/5. The fact she can grip the picture tells your her muscle power in her hands/fingers is at least a 4/5. i.e. she cannot be truly quadriplegic.  It is possible she is paraplegic but you cannot tell from this picture as she is sat in a wheelchair.  It is also possible she has an incomplete spinal cord lesion that disproportionately affects her legs over her arms and that she has weakness but not paralysis in her arms. Either way she cannot be truly quadriplegic.

Does not change the fact that she may have been left with a horrible debilitating injury and IF the husband in anyway contributed to this I hope the cunt gets everything he deserves.

Ok you need to calm down..I said it is possible, meaning they COULD HAVE  BEEN placed like that.

Your whole post answered to something that I wasn't really getting at.

Is it really beyond the realms of possibility that her arms and hands were placed there, then someone takes an instantaneous photo before the arms fall down.? Meaning it's not clear from a photo that she actually has grip and whether she can actually hold her arms up..!

You might have good knowledge of paralysis, but you didn't read my post too well.

I read your post perfectly well. Clearly, you didn't understand mine so I will re-iterate. It is not possible at all, EVER!

Do you understand the concept of gravity? Someone who has true paralysis cannot support their arms against gravity i.e. if the arms were placed there they would drop instantly like a lead weight because of gravity.

I completely agree. If true its a horrific story and the guy is an animal who should be locked away for a very long time.

But only IF its true.

As you said, something seems off with this. Surely the picture alone would show she is not a quadriplegic. Perhaps the reporters got the specific medical diagnosis wrong? Also it must be said we are only hearing one side of the story here. Personally I would reserve judgement until I knew all the facts. This is Thailand after all. Its not hard for anyone with experience of living in Thailand to imagine scenarios where the truth was twisted and misrepresented to extort money from the hapless farang, in which case his sudden flight abroad might be more understandable. Usually when it comes down to a thai vs a farang, there is only one winner. On the other hand her story could be completely accurate. Its just impossible to know what really happened.

One minor aside though, you stated that there is no excuse to ever hit a woman. I assume you meant in the context of this story, that even if she was cheating its no excuse to do what he is alleged to have done to her. In which case I totally agree. But I have heard that statement made in absolute terms by many guys, including close friends of mine, namely there is never any excuse to hit a woman period. This always seems crazy to me. In reality there are absolutely cases where its justifiable to hit a woman, but only in self defence.

Perfectly understandable connotations posted above; one aspect not yet mentioned is that love spurned Thai ladies have been previously known to exit balconies of their own accord.

There could have been many threats made from both sides which may be the reason for making himself scarce...we don't know, as rollbeard mentions above; there is only one winner in this predicament.

Interesting that the doctors previously assessed her injuries as having jumped...the latest iteration claims they were mistaken.

I'm not disputing anything or laying blame, wouldn't dream of it. As the above post says...there's a big 'if'.

Many Thai girls just don’t understand how dangerous it is to play with the man’s self-respect (especially when it comes to farangs). In no way I justify what the husband has done but I am almost sure he was out of his mind when he pushed her from the balcony. She was the one to put him in this condition.

And I say this from my own experience. How many times my ex gf has provoked me for the crazy action. Thanks God, I was able to control myself.

A lot of unstable, emotionally insecure scumbags in Pattaya.  Grown men!

These gals get involved much more with these type of individuals than we hear about.

Look at that other thread where the dude is losing it over some gal, with all his text being exposed.  I hope not but it could get ugly.

Just my humble opinion.

Some of the girls can be emotionally unstable as well as being volatile , having a temper and if you put that together with a guy with the temperament you explained then it can be disastrous and explosive.

Funny how there is a highly detailed description of the events, but when a farang dies suspiciously they are like "no evidence, no foul play".

Quadraplegics aren’t like Gumby or GI Joe, you can’t move them into position and the limbs stay there!  The muscles don’t work at all.

The photo shows the injured girls sister holding photos of the injured girl, her mother is in the background and the lawyer is the guy in the ridiculous pink shirt.

Nothing worse than being caught up in a serious court case in Asia.. I think it can happen to anyone though. Important to cherish freedom these days and not take it for granted...
