Online Facebook/Messenger Scamsters

New and her friends have just been subjected to a facebook rip off; this only happened last evening Someone requested her friends to send them money posing as New as she needed it fast.

New has just returned from the cop shop...there was over 50k 'borrowed'. The police say this scam has been going on a while; it wasn't even News name used and the bank account was different. They said these Koreans/Chinese/African scamsters all pay a Thai lady to open a bank account & give them the details. They're all over FB leeching peoples details; we all know the money go round with the Thais, if they're short they may ask a friend...this is what the fuckers are playing on. People are believing them because the request comes in individually on Messenger. One local bar owners daughter account was scammed and the request went out to all the family who lent what they had.

New found out as a friend called her to say she'd sent the money as requested..what request? She looked at the message and said that's not even my name and I would never put a bank account number on messenger?

The police told her that a Thai TV star was done recently; he had a message from his friend requesting a loan of 500k; he gave it as they'd been lifelong pals; next day he had the same urgent request, so he sent it. His friend popped into see him and the subject came up, are you ok? You can guess the rest.

Please request your Thai friends to ring their friend if someone asks for money on FB/Messenger.
