August Suites

My never ending search for good value hotel accommodation took me to the August Suites today. It has just opened and I have to say the rooms are very good.

Standard rooms are 40m, therefore on the larger size plus a big shower room. Each room and the public areas have free high speed wi fi.

They also showed me the one bedroom suite which was well kitted out and had a massive bathroom with a tub and separate shower stall.

They have a great pool deck on the second floor which is a good size and has a jacuzzi built in.

They have a website which is not fantastically populated but gives you a good idea. www.augustsuites.com

Location wise is good, on Pattaya Klang near 2nd Road so you can fairly much get anywhere in town fairly quickly

Re the prices they are showing on the website, they are very negotiable. Without asking discounts were flying at me. The standard room went from 45,000 to nearer 30,000 for the month and that was without me pushing it. I would think the daily rates could be squeezed quite easily too. They said there was no problem with ladies joining you so no extra costs there.

I am likely to move there in a few days when my current deal runs out so will give a more in depth report then.

IMO looks a very good new quality hotel. The guy at reception speaks almost perfect english so no problem with negotiations

I am seriously wanting to stay here, especially because of the location. I will be in Pattaya, arriving 1st week of Feb. I would like to stay here for 9 days.

1. What kind of daily rate do you think that I could negotiate for this length of stay ?

2. What about noise levels from on going construction ?

Any information on these two questions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

the hotel is finished, there is no more construction going on. When I was there yesterday they said just to email in your requests. I would go as low as you think best maybe 1000 a night and see what they come back with. If you are going to be out every night then tell them you do not want the breakfast as that could get the price down too. I would think if you actually paid around the 1500 a night you are getting great value as it is a good location and a well equipped hotel.

It is a pity they have not put more pictures on the website as it is very nice, pool area is cracking too.

Thanks for the update (Keep 'em coming!)

Do they say these prices they quote are inclusive of electricity, cleaning, linen changing etc? I mean the monthly figures

**Edit

I just looked at their website..........have those prices gone up from what they were?

Last time i looked the 2 bedroom suite was 55,000 and now its 75,000

monthly figures are inclusive of everything including breakfast, linen , electricity , water , wifi etc.

on the leaflet I picked up the one bedroom suite is 55,000 and the standard room 45,000 with the 2 bedroom at 75,000. The one bedroom suite is obviously 2 bedrooms with one made up as a lounge, the bathroom is a walkthrough from both rooms with a big bathtub and a shower. In the standard rooms you get a big shower area only. I didnt look at the family suite but as it is the same size as the one bedroom suite it would just be 2 bedrooms and as it states one made up as a double and the other as a twin.

As i said before 10% was offered straight away off the rates and an offer if I stayed a couple of months to go to the manager for a better rate. There seems to be a pricing issue between the standard room and the one bedroom suite as there is only 10,000 difference for double the size. My aim is to try and get the standard room at 30,000, 1000 a night seems fair but pass on the breakfast as never up in time. I will try and get lower but think 30,000 would be bottom dollar. The one bedroom I would think could be bargained down to 40,000 ish as they appear to be willing to negotiate.

Thanks for the post. I think I will definitely look into this place. I was thinking about the nova suites, but I might as well try this place out. Especially since they allow the haggling :P .

Thanks bb0510 for the update.

I see they intro rate is up till end of Feb. Bit of a bastard as Im not arriving till mid March !

I've emailed them anyway making them an offer of 1250. I'll update the board to let you know if they accept it or what they come back with.

Bit of a letdown not being able to see any pictures of the rooms or facilities. From what they have put on the site, which isn't much, it looks a nice place.

the website is disappointing I have to agree. There are no kitchenettes in the rooms. However having stayed in many of Pattaya's better locations I would say this is top class. If they come back with the prices I will let you know.

Just to update you, I didnt get a reply back from my email, so I gave them a call. The guy there speaks great English (as previous said).

The best I could get for March for 6 nights is 1800 baht per night, so booked it at that.

If Blueboy's review is even 70% accurate it looks like its worth it :10of10Score:

So I suppose there are two things there. They are happy to extend the promotional price into March and also drop the promo daily price by a couple of hundred baht a night.

Thanks very much for the heads up.

Of course, if anyone beats this price with them....let us know :BeerFunnel1:

Cheers, spoke with the manager on the phone. Seemed a nice lady. I would just like to see a few pictures of the room for peace of mind, from what I can see of it looks like the business though.

regarding what the rooms look like I would say they are up there with any 4* hotel. They should probably have gone for flat panel Tv's rather than the 29" but if that is the only complaint I can make I assure you they are top notch.

Each room has a balcony, not much of a view due to position but get a room at the back and you are overlooking the pool area which is all decked out and very cool looking..

Certainly a match for Tim hotel ( I have stayed there over 50 nights) Although the standard rooms here do not have the bathroom the in room amenities are as good if not better than Tims and you get free wi-fi- at Tims I was spending over 500Bt a day so there are savings there

got an email back re monthly rates today, now I am looking at staying for a few months so maybe the rate improved for that but I can now get it for 1000 a day with a 30,000 deposit which seems a bargain for this quality of hotel.

They knocked off the breakfast but I am never up in time anyway so thats fine but it includes all electric , water , Internet, cleaning etc

So once the deal where I am is finished I will check in and get some better pictures for you

I booked the twin bedroom suite from 02/05/2009 till 14/05/2009 and got it for 45000 Thb,I also booked one single room from 14/05/2009 till 22/05/09 and got it for 18000 Thb.

They replyed very quickly to E-mails and offer IMHO good rates. They didn't ask for a depossit either.
