Udon Thani - new championship course

The new golf course is currently under construction just outside Udon. Royal Creek will be an international standard course, and the good news is that the first 9 holes are now open. Work on the back 9 is also well underway.

Standard green fees are 1,600 plus 300 for the caddy, 600 for the cart. I guess sport day will be half that price. We played the newly opened 9 holes twice yesterday - 18 holes (walking) for 700thb inc caddy fee...a Billy bargain. The course is flat as a witch’s tit, and, obviously young, but in good condition- plenty of water to catch the unwary out.

The clubhouse main structure is up and they look to be fitting it out now. This is a very welcome addition to thegolf scene in Udon.

Played it over Songkran. A very good lay out and in great condition given its newness. The full 18 should be open in a few months. Aimed primarily at the Asian holiday market, it will be a must play course in low season if deals are available.
