ear wax removal in Pattaya

Crushed

Recommended Posts

I usually get this done once a year or every two years and was thinking I'd get it done in Thailand while I'm there in a couple of months.  I searched this part of the forum and see one poster got it done at one of the hospitals in Pattaya a couple of years ago.  I was wondering if there are any doctors' clinics that also do it and if anyone out there had recent experience.  I saw it cost 1400 -1600 a couple of years ago if you go to the hospital.  Where would you recommend going? Will the price  be different for a tourist as opposed to an ex-pat?  What sort of waiting time would I be in for?

I go to the clinic on Soi Buakhao and have it done. The one right next to Tin Cup restaurant. Forgot the price, but not expensive.

You can get it done in any barber shop....there are plenty

It costs from 100 Bhat to 300 bhat....depending on establishment...

there are a couple to check-out based on your location...

like sutin barbershop in soi buakhao (not sure about the price)

Meaow at Nice Nails Salon, in front of Royal Hill Condo, on Thappraya Rd, on the hill between Jomtien Beach and Pattaya Beach (price is around 200 - 250 Bhat)

please have a query asked directly to the cleaner on the process before opting one

I have had ear wax buildup on occasions. In February I could hardly hear in my left ear, went to hospital in Chiang Mai. Both ears cleaned out by a qualified doctor in the ENT department, cost 1249 bahts.

Dr recommended ear drops to prevent the wax buildup. The ones I am using are called "Apohealth Ear Wax Drops" no prescription required. A drop or two into each ear once a week is the treatment.

All well so far.

Thanks.  But that name sounds a bit too close to the Thai word for 'hurt' for my liking.  Do you still have all of both your ears?

I've had the ear wax removal done at Nemo and it's that thing where they light a paper thing on fire in your ear. They showed me afterwards and I'm a bit skeptical because the wax they showed me was wet when my ears usually produce dry wax and it didn't seem to have any effect on me. It was a fun little experience though. All the other services at Nemo are top notch though. Also, "NO SEX" lmao

I've had the "light a paper thing on fire in your ear" done in Pattaya, absolutely no effect on my blocked ear. Waited until I was back home in Oz, went to the doc's to have the ears properly sluiced out by a registered nurse, result perfect. Cost about $30.

Why would you want to get it done in Thailand?

There's no such thing as free pussy!

I've been wearing hearing aids for over 50 years. One thing I've learned from the doctor's over the years.  Do not ever put something in your ear, may it be candles, cotton sticks or anything else. The only thing that's ok to use is your elbow. Just don't do it!

I went to Pattaya City Hospital (the Government Hospital) to get wax removed but got fed up waiting and went to Pattaya Memorial Hospital and was  seen very quickly. Doctor seemed efficient. He used a jet i had never seen before but it worked.

That was this year and the cost about 1200 baht. Best to get eardrops to soften the wax for a few days before you go. I bought Dewax Eardrops for 70 baht. On the box it says "Removes Ear Wax Easily.

I’ve had this procedure done at Bangkok Pattaya hospital. It was about 1,000฿ per ear but that was a few years ago. They stick a camera down your ear and you can watch them doing it on the TVs in the room.

Eden does the exact same. I had it done last trip. I can’t exactly remember how it’s done but I was to do with heat and melting the wax.

Obviously not as good as medically done but I gave it ago. Can’t remember any remarkable improvement.

That's called "ear candling" and in no way shape or form removes wax from your ears.  It's one of those new-age bullshit "remedies" that's useless at best, and potentially harmful.

If you have impacted wax to the point that it's becoming a medical issue, save yourself the trouble of seeing Supachai at the barber and go see a legitimate ENT at the hospital.  As always, seeing non-medical personnel for medical issues opens the door to a bad outcome.  You can fuck yourself up quite nicely by fucking up your ears.

Personally, I just dump a capful of OTC hydrogen peroxide in my ears every month or two, to bubble and fizz any nasties away.  I've been doing it for years on recommendation of my ENT and no longer have the issues with wax buildup I used to.

As always, it would be insane to take medical advice from this board, so go hit up your ENT.  Good luck!

Great advise you have to be frigging daft to let some grubby barber stick implements into ones ears .

The damage done could be permanent.

Similar. Both ears sluiced out by a nurse. Qualified doctor checked and signed me off.

Fee was covered by Medicare (Australian universal health insurance).

Uh??

Sorry, but if it's just a ears cleaning for remove excess of wax, why going to an hospital ??

You can make this cleaning yourself with Hydrogen Peroxide 3%, and a bottle may cost 20 baht only!

(Edit: except of course if medical issues with you ears: infection, blood,...)

https://www.wikihow.com/Clean-Ears-with-Peroxide

Available in most (if not all) pharmacies and in big shops like BigC

Many barber shops in Pattaya will clean the shit outa your ears... scary process - I have had it done a couple times... they use all kinds of tools and it takes 45 minutes or so... pure torture, but you end up with very clean ears... a problem with doing it yourself is that often times you end up pushing the wax further in...

Retired in Pattaya, Thailand - arrived April 1, 2014... Ohhhhh yeahhhhhh... LiveN my dream!

You'd be better off asking those posters who went there than me.  Some of their posts are nine years old.  I wanted info about a clinic.  But I'd assume they went there because they wanted a medical professional to do it.  Sorry for including the video in the quote.  Unlike pictures, they don't seem easy to delete.

I had my ears cleaned just recently at the soi baukhao clinic for 1000b. Its between soi honey and soi dianna on the east side. The proceedure took about 30min, ear wax softener was applied and after 10min the ear was flushed. Might be cheaper places but this clinic is convenient for me.
